Must Have Shoes Of The Week

Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I spent some much needed time with my family so it was a good weekend for me but now it's time to get back to the daily grind of work. Just remember the next weekend is only 5 short days away so it will be here before you know it. I spent some time this weekend searching for the perfect spring shoes for this post. I looked in local stores and online and I finally found a pair that I think are absolutely gorgeous and must haves for spring.

These pumps are so colorful. The orange, green and yellow color scheme is perfect for spring and the fact that they are open like sandals makes them a must have item for the warmer weather we are starting to have. Where did I find these gorgeous shoes? I found them online from Baker's shoes and I'm pretty positive they are on sale so some added savings for you :) You can wear any of the colors in the pumps to match and dresses or jeans will work just fine with whatever style you are rocking for the day. For my first example I chose to pair the shoes with an orange dress and a tan purse. The orange in the shoes matches great with the dress and the purse is a neutral color which pulls the whole outfit together quite nicely. For my second example I chose an orange blouse simply because I love that color. If you want you can also wear a yellow or green blouse instead depending on your style and mood for that particular day. I threw in a tan purse to bring the whole outfit together. Both of these outfits would be a great addition to your new spring wardrobe! To recreate these looks:

Dress: theoutnet.com

Black with a Pop of Aqua

Hey everyone! I hope you're having an awesome weekend. Did you get a chance to check out my picks of the week on Thursday? If so, have you checked out L'Patricia yet? I passed by this weekend and saw the store is full of new stuff for spring so you should certainly make a trip up there or look them up online. So which sweater from Thursday's post was your favorite? Mine was.....

This aqua cardigan is extremely comfortable. The material is soft against my skin and it's not too thick so I stayed cool when I was outside in this wonderful warm spring weather we've been having. However, it is getting a little too warm for sweaters here in Texas so this will be my last sweater post until fall. I love the look of all black with a splash of color so I decided to pair this cardigan with black pants, a black undershirt, and black heeled boots. You can also pair the aqua with all white for a more spring feel or you can find a pattern with aqua in it and wear the cardigan over it. A floral dress or shirt would be a good pattern to go with for this cardigan. Also if you don't wear heels you can always wear a flat boot like a riding boot or a cute pair of ballet flats. No matter what your style is you can work this cardigan into your wardrobe. This is the perfect outfit for a spring night out with your friends or significant other.

Cardigan: L'Patricia
Undershirt: Forever 21
Pants: Walmart
Shoes: Alloy

This coming week I start my hardcore spring shopping. So be sure to check out all the latest styles from the featured store of the week on Thursday's picks of the week post. Also be sure to check back tomorrow for my must have shoes of the week post. As always I love feedback so leave me a comment or email me directly at fashionabletigress@gmail.com You can also follow me on Instagram at www.Instagram.com/fashionabletigress and on Twitter at www.Twitter.com/tigressfashion

5 Must Have Items For Spring 2016

With the warmer than normal weather we have been experiencing this year I think it’s safe to say spring has officially arrived! Well it has for most of the southern states anyway. For my friends up north, just a few more weeks and you should feel the warm up as well. So, have you been spring shopping yet? I have purchased a few things already myself and plan to start wearing these items the first weekend of March. This year there are a lot of new trends hitting the stores for the spring season along with some old school fashion that is making a comeback. And of course there are always the “normal” spring items that come out every year. There are so many new styles and types of clothing to talk about that it will take me several posts to get to them all so bear with me. For now I’m going to keep it simple so I’ve picked 5 items that are hot for spring and are must haves for every woman’s wardrobe.

#1: The Floral Dress
The floral dress has and always will be a must have for spring and this year is no different. There’s something about the warmth in the air and seeing all the beautiful flowers in bloom that makes a woman want to wear them on her so she can have flowers all day long. No matter what floral pattern you decide to go with you will look spring ready and always in style in a gorgeous floral dress. You can wear this dress practically anywhere. Got a hot date? Going out with friends? Strolling through town doing some shopping? The floral dress works perfectly in all these situations. It’s also perfect for Easter Sunday but I’ll get more into depth with what to wear for Easter on a later post. For my example I chose a beautiful floral bird patterned dress in grey which is a great color for spring. I paired the dress with cute nude strappy heels and a matching purse. For added effect I chose a blue watch and some glitter nail polish and a nude eyeshadow palette. To recreate this look:
Dress: Tedbaker.com
Shoes: Newlook.com
Purse: Forwardbyelysewalker.com
Watch: Amara.com
Nail polish: Etsy.com
Makeup: Hottopic.com

#2: The Gladiator Sandals
Who doesn’t love a comfortable and stylish pair of sandals? Sandals are a must have for the spring and summer seasons! The gladiator sandal has been out for a few years now but it doesn’t look as if it’s going away any time soon. It’s on the list as one of this season’s hottest items because of how comfortable and versatile it is. You can wear these sandals with almost anything including dresses, jeans, shorts, skirts, and swim wear. If you don’t already have a pair of these you simply must go out and get a pair as soon as you can. For my example I chose a tan pair of gladiator sandals because it’s a neutral color so you will get more wear out of them if you choose to splurge. I paired the sandals with some distressed denim shorts and a super feminine floral top for that added spring effect along with a tan leather cross body purse. This is the perfect outfit for hanging out with friends or that walk through the park with your significant other. To recreate this look:
Shoes: Stylebop.com
Shorts: Boutique1.com
Shirt: Beautifulhalo.com
Purse: Kirnazabete.com

#3: The Super Flared Leg Jeans
In the 1970s flared leg and bell bottom jeans were all the rage. They had a brief comeback in the late 90s early 2000s but then it was all about the skinny jeans. Don’t get me wrong skinny jeans are still popular and they are by far my favorite type of jean to wear, but those super cute super flared leg jeans are making a major comeback for the 2016 spring season. My only issue with these jeans is that I’m a petite woman so most stores don’t have these in my length so if I buy a pair I have the headache of finding a tailor to fix them for me. I love clothes I can wear straight off the rack, but for these cuties I may just have to suck it up this year and buy at least one pair. As a side note there is a new style of flared leg- jeans and those are the capri length flares. While this style would fit me perfectly in the length and probably look more like pants than capris seeing as I’m really short, I don’t particularly care for this one so this is one style I will steer clear of. For my example I chose a cute pair of high-waisted flare leg jeans in a medium blue rinse. I paired them with a gorgeous black and coral floral blouse, black lace-up chunk heeled booties, and a black cross body purse. This is the perfect outfit for that date night you have coming up since it may still be slightly cool at night. To recreate this outfit:
Jeans: houseoffraser.com
Blouse: Choies.com
Shoes: Silkfred.com
Purse: Belk.com

#4: The Color Orange
The color orange is hated on a lot! I honestly don’t know why because it’s a beautiful color and it goes with many different skin tones. It may be a little too bold for some of you, but if you don’t mind all the extra attention you will get from wearing this color then by all means girl rock it! When you think of orange you usually think of fall, but it depends on the shade of orange you go with. For the spring season the bold bright shade of orange is the way to go. There’s just something about this shade that makes me think of a beautiful sunset and spring weather. I personally don’t own anything in this shade but I plan to remedy that as soon as I can get to the store. If you’re really dead set against orange then any bold color will do. Bright pink or yellow will be great too. For my example I chose the cutest asymmetrical orange top and paired it with distressed skinny jeans, orange fringe open-toed booties, an orange and black color block purse, an orange bracelet, and orange flower stud earrings. This is the perfect outfit for a night on the town with your girlfriends. To recreate this look:
Shirt: Yoox.com
Jeans: Nordstrom.com
Shoes: Shop-hers.com
Purse: Harrods.com
Bracelet: Saksfifthavenue.com
Earrings: 1stdibs.com

#5: The Color Block Purse
I remember back in the 80s when color blocking was huge. Everything from bags to clothes were color blocked and I loved it! This style has had a few comebacks throughout the years but it has never stayed around too long. I’m so happy to see this trend coming back into style and hopefully this time it will stick around for a while. The trick to wearing this style is to only have one item that is color blocked and match everything else you’re wearing with one of the colors. For instance, if you are wearing a purse that is color blocked with blue and pink then you would want to accentuate one of the colors but not both and by all means don’t wear a dress with it that is also color blocked as it will make the whole outfit look like a hot mess. For my example I chose a gorgeous pink, blue, cream, yellow, and black color blocked purse from Kurt Geiger. I paired it with a plain blue shirt dress to highlight the blue in the purse and a nude pair of heels to pull the whole outfit together. This is the perfect outfit for a day of shopping or having lunch with friends. To recreate this look:
Purse: Kurtgeiger.com
Dress: Houseoffraser.com
Shoes: Rupertsanderson.com

If you weren’t excited at the thought of spring shopping I sure hope you are now! There are so many other new hot items that I can’t wait to talk about but for now these are a great start. Just remember that no matter what styles come and go you always have to stay true to yourself. Don’t just wear the newest thing because it’s popular. Only wear something you love and that looks great on you. I hope you have an awesome weekend and as always I love feedback so leave me a comment or send me an email directly at fashionabletigress@gmail.com. Tigress' Picks Of The Week

Hello everyone! We've made it past hump day and now we can see the weekend on the horizon. It's Thursday and that means it's time to show you guys the awesome deals I've found for the week. I'm starting something new this week. Instead of making you guys wait until Sunday to find out where you can find these items I'll reveal that right away, but my choice won't be revealed until Sunday as usual. Thanks for all the feedback because that's what helps me make these decisions.

This week I chose a store called L'Patricia. It's a store geared towards juniors sizes but they do have a plus size section as well and they are starting to get some children's clothing too. You can find everything from every day wear to prom dresses here so there's something for everyone. I chose 3 sweaters to show you this week. The first one is a cute blue and white striped sweater that fits really well and isn't too thick so it's still good to wear for the spring. The second one is a black sweater with a sash that ties in the front. It looks really good on but the material is a little scratchy for those of us with sensitive skin. The third one is a gorgeous aqua color that is soft on the skin and very lightweight so it too can be worn for the spring season. All of these 3 items are great buys but if none of these catch your eye I'm sure the store has something else for you. You should definitely check it out :)

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week. Be sure to check back Sunday to see which one of these items I chose and to see how I made it into an outfit. Also don't forget tomorrow I'll have an article on the 5 best new items for spring for you to check out. As always I love feedback so leave me a message or send me an email at fashionabletigress@gmail.com letting me know which one is your favorite.

Blue Cable Knit Sweater

Hey again everyone. I hope you're having an awesome week so far. It's Wednesday so that means the week is halfway over for most of you! Are you as ready for the weekend as I am? This weekend I have plans with my mom for her birthday so I'm super excited about that. What are your plans for the weekend? Hopefully you get to have some fun :) Whatever it is you're doing be sure to add some shopping to your list because it's always a good time to buy clothes.

I'm having a hard time letting go of the winter season because I love wearing sweaters so I wanted to share with you a sweater I wore a couple of weekends ago. The cable knit sweater is the epitome of winter style. I don't own many of these but I'd be remiss not to include the one that I do have before winter is over. This blue cable knit sweater from Forever 21 is a great buy. Not only is it comfortable but it's also thick so it will keep you warm during these last few lingering weeks of winter. The neck opening is a little small so if you have a slightly larger neck or head then you may not want to attempt this one. I had only a little bit of an issue getting it over my head but it wasn't too bad and it was so worth the effort. The jeans I found at Burkes outlet. They are extremely stretchy which I love because I can move more freely and I don't feel as constricted as I do when wearing normal cotton jeans. The boots I found at Ross. They are very comfortable and I have worn them literally everywhere from rock concerts to church. They not only tie down the front but they also have a side zipper which I use more than the ties. It makes getting them off and on faster. I felt super comfortable and cute in this outfit which was perfect for the errands I was running that day.

SWEATER: FOREVER 21

JEANS: BURKES OUTLET

SHOES: ROSS

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week. Be sure to check back tomorrow for my picks of the week post. As always I love feedback so feel free to leave me a comment or email me directly at fashionabletigress@gmail.com.   You can also follow fashionable tigress on instagram and Facebook and tigressfashion on twitter.

Spring is right around the corner so it's time to start shoe shopping again and if you love shoes as much as I do then you are super excited about that. Have you been looking for the perfect spring heels? If so then I've found an awesome pair for you....

These heeled sandals are the perfect shoes for spring! They are great for those cute spring dresses that you have been dying to wear and the color is neutral so they will go with just about any color you want to pair them with. You can find these beauties at Shi by Journeys which is one of my favorite places to buy shoes. They always have the latest styles and the whole store is catered to us ladies which is awesome! To help you decide how to wear these shoes I've come up with two examples. For my first example I paired the shoes with a pretty purple dress and neutral colored jewelry and a purse. This is the perfect outfit for going on a date with your significant other. For my second example I paired the shoes with a gorgeous floral skirt with a neutral colored blouse, purse, and jewelry. This isn't as dressy as the first example but it's still perfect for that date or a day out with your girlfriends These shoes are so amazing and should be at the top off your to buy list. Grey and coral cardigan

Hey everyone! I hope you are having an amazing weekend. It's almost the end though so be sure to make the most of today. Did you get a chance to check out my picks of the week post from Thursday? Have you been wondering which one I chose and where you can find the sweaters for yourself? Well the first sweater I loved. It fit really good and the colors were really pretty on me but I have a sweater already at home with similar colors so I decided not to get that one. The third one was really light and I love the design of it but I didn't like the way it hung on my frame. But if either of those was your favorite you can find them all at Palais royal! And they are all on sale right now so you will get a super deal on them. And so of course the winner is....

This grey cardigan caught my eye when I saw it on the rack because of the colorful stripes and the cut out detail in the sleeves. It's very cute and I knew I could both dress it up and dress it down depending on the shoes I decided to wear so it was a win. When I got the cardigan home I realized I had a pair of sandals in my closet that matched the stripes of the sweater perfectly so it was a double win! You know that feeling ladies...when you get something home and it works with your wardrobe so well it's almost as if it were meant to be. So I decided almost immediately that I was going to make this a casual outfit. Thankfully it was in the upper 70s this weekend here in Texas so I was able to wear the sandals instead of the grey booties I had on backup. If you want to dress this cardigan up more then you can wear a cute pair of ballet flats or heeled boots. To recreate this look:

Cardigan: Palais Royal
Camisole: Walmart
Jeans: Walmart
Shoes: Charlotte Russe

Thanks for stopping by again everyone. As always I love feedback so feel free to leave me a comment or email me at fashionabletigress@gmail.com. Also be sure to follow fashionable tigress on instagram and Facebook. And follow me on Twitter @tigressfashion for updates on new blog posts.

5 Key Items That Transition From Winter To Spring

It’s that time of year again! The ice is melting, the days are getting longer, and you can feel the warmth in the air which can only mean one thing: SPRING! I’m sure you are ready to pull out those spring dresses and sandals and put away all those scratchy sweaters until next year, but don’t put all of it away just yet. Yes with spring comes warmer weather, but there’s still a slight nip in the air and you may want to hold onto a few of those key winter items for at least another month anyway. So, what key items am I referring to? Certainly not the thick wool coat or the fur boots…feel free to put those away now…but the slightly less bulky items that you have been wearing all winter long. To help you out I’ve put together a list of 5 items that transition easily from winter to spring.

#1: The Scarf
Scarves are wonderful accessories that come in all patterns and colors. Scarves don’t discriminate when it comes to size so everyone can wear these beautiful add on pieces and not feel too fat or too thin. They can also transition from one season to the next with ease so splurging on one would be a financial win. However; before you go out and spend a big chunk of your paycheck on a brand new spring scarf, look at the scarves you were wearing during the winter. Of course you don’t want to keep wearing the thick cotton one that you wore solely to keep you warm, but pick the one with the lighter fabric that is bold and vibrant in color. In spring, scarves are meant to be eye candy pieces and not necessarily to function as a neck warmer. For my example I chose a very beautiful coral scarf with turquoise flowers and paired it with a sleeveless turquoise dress, nude heels, and a nude purse. This is the perfect outfit for a dinner date with friends.
Dress: Farfetch.com
Scarf: Popmap.com
Shoes: 6pm.com
Purse: Charlotterusse.com

#2: The Long-Sleeved Dress
Dresses are the perfect article of clothing for spring especially the floral ones. There’s just something about seeing all the flowers in bloom that makes you want to have them with you at all times. I don’t think it’s possible for me to even put on a floral dress without feeling super girly and romantic. While the sleeveless and strappy ones are amazing, don’t forget about that pretty little long-sleeved dress you were wearing all through the winter. Yes you may have had to wear thick tights under it and a coat over it, but now with it being spring you can bear those legs and shed that coat. The awesomeness of the dress can now stand on its own. I wouldn’t try to transition that dress all the way to summer, but it’s perfect for spring because there are still days it may be slightly cool outside and those long sleeves will come in handy. For my example I chose a gorgeous long-sleeved dress with red and pink flowers that is a light weight material. I paired the dress with a cute pair of black mary jane clogs and a black purse. This outfit has a retro 90s feel to it which I absolutely love. You can wear sandals or wedges instead if you prefer. This is the perfect outfit for running errands or just being out and about enjoying the wonderful spring air.
Dress: Yoins.com
Shoes: Stylebop.com
Purse: Tradesy.com

#3: The Cardigan
Who doesn’t love a nice cardigan? This was a stable wardrobe piece this winter and it’s safe to say I think it will keep going strong right into spring. You don’t want to wear the thick furry one on a nice spring day of course, but that one you have in the slightly lighter material which you wore in the winter despite the fact you were shivering…yeah that’s the one you want to bring into spring with you. While the long sleeves will ward off any lingering chill in the air, you won’t get overheated. And of course you will still look super awesome. Be sure to pick the cardigan that is the springiest in color. Don’t try to hold onto that winter print even though it’s amazing….save it for next winter! For my example I chose a pink open front cardigan in a light material and paired it with distressed skinny jeans, nude heeled booties, and a nude camisole. You can opt for sandals or wedges instead if you’re ready to set your toes free for spring. This is the perfect outfit for that movie date with your significant other or for running around town with your girls.
Cardigan: Amazon.com
Jeans: Lanecrawford.com
Camisole: Theory.com
Shoes: Herveleger.com

#4: The Booties
The bootie has become a must have in everyone’s wardrobe. It isn’t as tall as a full boot, but it isn’t as short as just a shoe…it’s the perfect size to pair with almost any outfit. When getting ready to bring out that spring wardrobe just look at all the possibilities and outfit combinations that you can have with those awesome booties you were thinking of putting away. Yes it’s ok to put away any boots or booties that have fur or just have the general look of a winter boot, but those sexy tan booties that you lived in all last season can be lived in this season as well. And yes ladies, you can wear those booties with that dress! Booties actually look super cute with dresses so if you’re not quite ready to let your feet out to play, booties are your saving grace. For my example I chose a royal blue shift dress in a ¾ sleeve and paired it with a gorgeous pair of tan scrunched booties and a tan hat. I’m not a big fan of hats in general, but this one pulls this whole outfit together in the most adorable way. This is the perfect outfit for a day of shopping with your friends.
Dress: Withchic.com
Shoes: Stylebop.com
Hat: Chicos.com

#5: The Blue Jean Jacket
Everyone should own a blue jean jacket…EVERYONE! These jackets are extremely versatile and can be worn with just about everything. There isn’t a season where you should put this item away. Even in the summer it may be chilly enough at night to wear one of these when you are at a friend’s barbeque. So, by all means put away that fur coat and that thick sweater you only wore to keep from freezing to death, but keep the blue jean jacket ready to go all year long. That beautiful floral dress you are wearing for spring…yes you can wear this jacket with that too. So, when you want to dress it up on a date but make sure you stay warm while out at night or if you are going somewhere you want to be more covered like church this jacket comes in handy. It provides just enough warmth to ward off that nighttime spring chill, but won’t smother you with heat on those hot spring days. For my example I chose a beautiful white dress with blue flowers and a lace bodice and paired it with the must have blue jean jacket and a pair of blue wedges. This is the perfect outfit for that day date with your significant other or for a nice walk through the city.

Jacket: Only.com
Shoes: Heels.com

Who’s ready spring? I know I sure am! I hope this list has helped you decide what to keep in your closet as we head into the spring season. Tigress' Picks Of The Week

Hello everyone! I hope you are having an amazing week. It's Thursday which means this week is almost over. Who's excited for the weekend? I know I sure am! You know what else is today? It's time for my picks of the week. For those of you who just started following me, every week I go to a different store and pick 3 articles of clothing that I absolutely love then I pick my favorite of those and write a post about it. Sounds super fun right?! I certainly enjoy doing it as I love to shop. Also there's only 2 more weeks of winter in my opinion so I'll be able to start shopping for spring soon.

This week my decision was fairly easy. All of the sweaters were awesome but of course I had to pick only one so it came down to the question do I have anything similar at home already? I've made this mistake before and had too many items that look alike so I'm gonna really focus on not doing that anymore. So where did I find these items? You will have to check back on Sunday to find out and see how I made my favorite into an outfit. Also be sure to check back tomorrow for ideas on what items in your wardrobe can transition from winter to spring...

Which one is your favorite? Be sure to leave me a comment with your answer. I would love to hear your opinion. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week.

Pretty In Purple

Hello again everyone. I hope you are having an awesome week so far. It's hump day for most of you so get ready the weekend is almost here! So have you decided what you're wearing this weekend? I have some outfits in mind and I can't wait to share them with you. I don't get to dress up during the week because of my job so today I'm sharing an outfit I wore this last weekend...

I love the color purple. It's so vibrant and gorgeous and makes me feel so beautiful when I wear it. Seeing as this color was once limited only to royalty it makes since that it would make the person wearing it feel this way. I wore this shirt to a valentine's dinner with my boyfriend and some friends so of course I wanted to look fabulous. The design of the shirt is very dressy and it drapes so perfectly in the front that I didn't want to ruin the neckline by wearing a necklace. I wanted to look like I dressed up slightly but not overdo it so I paired the shirt with distressed skinny jeans. Who doesn't love a good pair of ripped jeans?! And let's talk about the shoes! These shoes are simply amazing. They are surprisingly comfortable and extremely versatile in that you can wear any of the many colors in the pattern of the shoes and still match. Just don't try to wear something patterned with these shoes. Keep it simple and beautiful. If you love the outfit but can't wear heels you can always wear a cute pair of purple ballet flats or black dressy boots.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day. Be sure to check back tomorrow for my picks of the week post. As always I love feedback so feel free to send me an email or leave a comment.

Must Have Shoes Of The Week

Hey everyone! I hope you had a great weekend and valentine's day. It's time to kick off the week with an awesome pair of shoes I found! These gorgeous shoes instantly grabbed my attention when I saw them at the store and I knew I had to have them. They look like they came straight out of the 1940s and now I feel the sudden urge to find a super sexy black pin up style dress to pair them with. If you love them just as much as I do you can find them at payless....yes you heard right. And the best part is they are only $35.

I recently found a new app that I love called polyvore. So for my examples of how to wear these shoes I used this app. To find any of the items in the pictures you can go to polyvore and look up fashionable tigress and check out my sets which will include these two. It will show you a list of each item in the set and where you can get it. For my first example I decided to dress it up and found the cutest black peplum dress and paired the outfit with gorgeous jewelry and a matching purse. Peplum looks good on just about anyone so this outfit works well for all body types. For my second example I chose business attire. Black dress pants and a blazer with a white sleeveless blouse pairs perfectly with these shoes as well. This is the perfect outfit for that upcoming interview or just for looking awesome at the office. I included nice jewelry and of course red lipstick. This outfit is also very versatile and will work with many different body types.

According to the lady at payless this is a hot selling item right now! So be sure to go snag you a pair before they are all gone. How would you wear these shoes? As always feel free to send me an email or leave a comment and let me know. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week and be sure to check back on Wednesday to see my next outfit and find out where you can find it.

Rose Sweater Cardigan

Hello again everyone! I hope everyone is having an amazing weekend and a wonderful valentine's day. If you haven't had a chance to check out my picks of the week be sure to go back and check that out! So, have you been dying to know where I found those 3 adorable sweaters? They can all be purchased from jcpenney. And I'm pretty sure they are all on sale now since winter will be over soon so you may get lucky and get them super cheap :) Which one did I decide to buy? Well the first one was super cute on the hanger and I love the dark colors of the stripes but it hung on me like an old coat and not in a good way. I felt like I was being swallowed by the sweater which is probably because I'm petite so this sweater would be good for someone taller. The second one was short enough for me and the colors were really pretty but I didn't like the way it felt against my skin. The material wasn't very soft and it just wasn't quite right. I'm sure you ladies know exactly what I mean. There are times when you try something on and you instantly know it's the one for you. Well this wasn't that time. But if you love it by all means go get it and rock it cause its still super cute. And so the winner of my pick of the week is......

The Rose Sweater Cardigan
I knew I already had a similar sweater at home but the pattern and material of each are different and when I tried this one on I decided I must have it and I'll find the other one a good home. The color is beautiful. It's not quite red but it's a softer rose color that looks awesome with my skin tone. The material is also so much softer than the one I already had and all I wanted to do was curl up in this sweater and go to sleep. I love how it drapes over my small frame and adds just a bit of bulk to make me appear more curvy than I actually am. I felt not only comfortable in this but also very beautiful which to me is exactly how an outfit should make you feel. I was going out for dinner and a movie with my boyfriend so this was the perfect outfit for a slightly warmer day with a bit of a chill still in the air. I didn't want to be too overdressed so I paired the sweater with skinny jeans and knee high fur combat boots. If you want to dress it up more then you can wear heeled boots or high heels. I don't think this sweater would look good with sneakers but you can sure try to make that work if you want. The sweater is Jcpenney, the undershirt is Forever 21, the jeans are Walmart, and the boots are JustFab.

Based on everyone's feedback I've decided to stop including a second outfit on my Sunday post. The second outfit will be posted on Wednesday and the picks of the week post will be moved to Thursday. As always I appreciate the comments and emails. I want to make this blog the best it can be and something you guys will love and want to read. How would you have made this sweater into an outfit? If you have suggestions or ideas please feel free to contact me anytime at fashionabletigress@gmail.com

5 Valentine's Day Outfits For That Hot Date

With Valentine’s Day this weekend I’m sure everyone is thinking the same thing…what am I going to wear? Picking the perfect outfit is crucial for that hot date with your significant other. We all want to look our best and make sure we keep our date’s eyes on us all night. When deciding what to wear take into consideration where you’re going. You wouldn’t want to wear a nice dress to go bowling or 6 inch heels for a walk in the park. Or maybe you’re a rebel and you totally would, but I want to be not only stylish but super comfortable as well so to help you make that decision I’ve picked out 5 V-day outfits for 5 different dates.

#1: The Red Dress-dinner date
Everyone should own a red dress. There’s something about the color red that makes a girl feel super sexy and confident which is probably why I’ve never seen anyone look bad in that color. Also, what’s the first color you think of when someone says Valentine’s Day? RED! The red dress is perfect if you’re going out to a nice dinner. It’s also the best opportunity to wear those cute heels seeing as you will be sitting most of the night anyway and won’t have to worry about aching feet later. You can wear any shade of red you like, but for my example I chose a deep blood red. This shade makes me feel romantic and mysterious at the same time which I love. I paired the dress with matching strappy heels and a gorgeous necklace. This outfit is sure to make a lasting impression. Photo credit: Dress-polyvore.com, Shoes-dsw.com, Necklace-rubylane.com

#2: The Pink Blouse-movie date
Pink is the second color everyone thinks about when deciding on a color for Valentine’s Day so I’d be remiss not to include it in this post. Like red, pink also looks good on just about anyone and makes the wearer feel feminine and flirty. A blouse is perfect if you want to be dressy but not overly so and is a great choice for that movie date. There are so many shades of pink to choose from, but for my example I picked a lighter shade that screams I want to be subtle but still absolutely gorgeous. The ruffle sleeves and front detail are perfect for the woman who wants to add a little extra something to the outfit without having to over accessorize to do so. I paired the blouse with a pair of cuffed skinny jeans and the cutest matching two tone wedges with a bow to make you feel super girly. You can also wear a nice pair of ballet flats if wedges aren’t your thing. With this outfit you’re sure to be a real show stopper. #3: The Floral Dress-romantic getaway
Ah the floral dress. There’s nothing more feminine than this. I don’t think anyone can wear a floral dress without having the sudden urge to put on a Nicholas Sparks movie or read an entire romance novel from cover to cover. Okay maybe I’m slightly exaggerating just a bit, but there is something about a floral pattern that makes you just feel overly romantic. This is the perfect outfit for that weekend getaway you have planned in honor of V-day. Even if it’s only one night away from the hustle and bustle of your daily life, this outfit is sure to scream I love you and I want to be romanced today! Sure once you get to where you’re going you’ll want to dress more comfortably, but for that first impression when you get picked up and whisked away this is the outfit you want to be wearing. For my example I chose a beautiful sleeveless dress with a blue and green floral pattern. I’ve read many studies to safely say that his favorite color is probably blue so why not wear his favorite color for a change!? And if blue isn’t his favorite color you can always find a dress that will match what he likes. I paired the dress with an awesome pair of matching blue heels and a beautiful blue bracelet. If you prefer green you can find matching green accessories to bring out that color instead. Also, you can wear flats or wedges if you have trouble walking in heels. Nothing breaks the mood quite like you falling on your face. With this outfit you’re sure to have the ultimate romantic experience. #4: The Purple Sweater-walk in the park
I love wearing purple for Valentine’s Day. In fact I’m probably going to wear a purple sweater this year for my date. Most people wear red or pink for this day so if you want to stand out but still look stunning purple is a great choice. There are many different shades of purple and not all of them look good with all skin tones so make sure you find the right shade for you. I look good in dark purple but not so hot in lavender so I try to stick with the darker shades. A sweater is a great choice for February since it’s usually still cold, but if it’s too hot for one you can always wear a short sleeved shirt instead. You might think a walk in the park would be too hot for a sweater, but most V-day dates are at night since it’s more romantic that way so I chose a sweater for a night walk in the park. For my example I chose a dark purple cowl neck tunic sweater. The neckline works with all body types and the sweater as a whole is not too restricting so you can be comfortable for your nice walk. I paired the sweater with a pair of black leggings and black knee high boots. The style of the boot is perfect for walking and will provide some support for your feet as opposed to flats. With this outfit you will be so comfortable that you can focus all your attention on the person next to you. Photo credit: Sweater-qvc.com, Leggings-electricyoga.com, Boots-shoedazzle.com

#5: The Heart Print Top-activity date
Hearts and Valentine’s Day are synonymous in that you can’t think of one without the other. So, why not wear a heart printed top on your V-day date?! Heart symbols have been replacing the word LOVE for as long as I can remember so when you are wearing hearts on your person you can’t help but think of love. It’s perfect for those couples who haven’t actually said those three little words yet because this is like a subliminal message. It’s shouting “say you love me already” without you having to say a word or hint at anything. This outfit is great for an activity date such as bowling or miniature golf. You won’t feel too restricted so you can beat him at all the games you guys play…or you can let him win if you like…and still look amazing. For my example I chose a gorgeous heart blouse with ruffle sleeves and buttons to make you feel super feminine. I paired the shirt with a cute pair of distressed skinny jeans and tan strappy wedges. This outfit has a girly feel but is very casual so you don’t look too overdressed. With this outfit his attention definitely won’t be on the game! Photo credit: Shirt-polyvore.com, Jeans-limelush.com, Wedges-polyvore.com

I hope I was able to give you some great ideas on how to dress for that big date night coming up. I’m sure you will all look absolutely amazing no matter what you decide to wear. Just remember ladies that confidence is key. Whatever you are wearing always be confident in that you are stunning and you will be. I wish all of you a wonderful weekend and a very happy Valentine’s Day.

Tigress' Picks Of The Week

I hope everyone is having an amazing week so far. It's been really cold here in Texas but it's finally starting to warm up. There should only be a few more weeks of sweater weather before I get to break out the spring wardrobe which I'm super excited about :) In case you haven't noticed I changed the name of the blog to Tigress' Wonderful Wardrobes. I wanted a more personal feel to the title instead of one that's too generic. With that being said, it's Wednesday and that means it's time to reveal my picks of the week! Since it's still winter for a little bit longer I decided to go with sweaters again. All of these sweaters are super cute and affordable.....which one is your favorite? Be sure to check back Sunday to find out which one I picked and to find out where you can buy all 3 for yourself. I hope you all have a great rest of the week...

Must Have Shoes of the Week

It's monday!! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend but now it's time to get back to work and tackle the week ahead of you. Are you ready? Perhaps the awesome shoes I found will help put a smile on your face....

While searching online stores I found the most amazing leopard heeled booties trimmed in bright pink from shiekhshoes.com I love this color of pink and paired with the leopard pattern really makes the color pop. These shoes are a little difficult to pair with an outfit but if you can pull off bright pink you're set. For my first example I chose a cute pair of light blue skinny jeans that you can wear tucked into the booties or you can roll into a cuff to just above the top of the booties and a bright pink blouse. This outfit is super cute and I love the style of the blouse. For my second example I chose a bright pink tank dress. This dress would look awesome paired with a leopard scarf or jacket if you can find the exact pattern of leopard. This is the perfect outfit to wear out to the club with your friends. You can also wear these shoes with black if you like but make sure the black isn't patterned. These shoes are sure to make a statement wherever you decide to wear them! Just be sure to hurry...these shoes are on sale right now and sizes and quantities are limited.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your week. Be sure to check back Wednesday for my picks of the week post! As always I love feedback. Follow me on instagram as fashionable tigress and check me out on Facebook under the same name. Goodbye for now :) fashionable tigress

My Fall and Winter Outfits 10

Hello again friends! I hope everyone is having an amazing weekend. Did you get a chance to check out my picks of the week? This week’s decision was a very difficult one for me. I love this store so much and everything in it is always so adorable that it makes it so hard to choose just one thing. I’m sure all you ladies can completely relate to what I’m saying! So, ultimately I chose the winner based on color. So have you been dying to know where you can get these awesome sweaters? The answer is Forever 21! This store is so huge and full of many different styles to choose from. I love it because the clothing is good quality that doesn’t cost me a fortune. The multi colored V-neck was super cute on the hanger. I love the colors in the sweater and how soft it is to the touch, but it didn’t hang very well on my frame. It looked as if I had owned the sweater for years and washed it 100 times and it had stretched out. Someone with more curves would probably pull this one off very well. The green one I really loved. It was soft to the touch and looked great with my skin tone, but I could only choose one and I really wanted the other one more. So, the winner is…

Outfit 1: Tigress’ Pick Of The Week
Outfit 1:
I love creamy neutral colors! As soon as I saw this sweater I knew it was going to be in the top 3 and possibly the one I was going to buy. It’s a really bulky sweater so if you have a slightly larger frame you might not want this one. They say TV adds 10 pounds to your frame…well I feel pictures can do the same. I had a difficult time getting a pic of this one because certain poses made me look a lot heavier than I actually am and this is exactly why ladies you have to watch what you wear. It was a cold dreary day so thick and bulky was good for me and I stayed warm and cozy all day while running my errands. This sweater is very casual so I wore it with a pair of skinny jeans and my super comfy tan UGGs. I wouldn’t try to dress this one up too much. A cute pair of ballet flats may work or even a pair of tan riding boots. To make it even more casual you could wear a pair of cute sneakers like Converse. The sweater is Forever 21, the jeans are Aeropostale, and the boots I got from Journeys.

Outfit 2:
Outfit 2:
For my second outfit of the week I chose yet another sweater from my first ever picks of the week post. This sweater is extremely soft and I love the way it feels against my skin. The color is very bright and loud but goes really well in contrast with the black. I wanted the pink in the sweater to stand out so instead of trying to wear pink shoes and accessories I decided to wear all black. You can’t tell from this picture but even my earrings are black. If you want you can accessorize this sweater with pink, but the trick is finding the exact color of pink so it doesn’t look mismatched. If you can achieve this however the outfit will look super cute and very well put together. I love matching colors and patterns! I don’t care what other magazines or bloggers say, mixing patterns is not cute! And wearing that red dress with bright pink shoes is a big no no! If you love this outfit and want to get it for yourself you can find the sweater and black pants from Walmart, the black undershirt from Forever 21, and the heeled boots are from Alloy.

Did your favorite make the cut this week? If not I encourage you to go out and get the one you absolutely love and create your own style. As always I love feedback from you so leave me a comment or shoot me an email. You can follow me on Instagram and like my Facebook page. Just look for fashionable tigress. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend and be sure to check back Monday for my shoes of the week post. Goodbye for now J Fashionable Tigress

5 Ways To Spice Up That Little Black Dress

The little black dress has become an iconic symbol of grace and beauty ever since Audrey Hepburn wore one in the classic movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Whether you’re going to a dinner party or out for a night on the town, the LBD is always the perfect choice. There are so many different styles to choose from and it’s really easy to accessorize. So, why doesn’t every woman own one of these must have items? It’s simple…many of us love to be somewhat flashy and the LBD can seem plain and somewhat boring. No one wants to seem boring even if the dress is super slimming and looks awesome on you. So how do you solve this little dilemma and look stunning and exciting at the same time? You have to have awesome accessories. Deciding what to wear with your dress can really make or break you. I have chosen 5 ways to accessorize that will always be in fashion and will make you stand out at any event or in any social situation.

#1: Wild Print Shoes
Wearing an awesome pair of leopard or zebra print heels will make that LBD pop. Animal prints in general make you seem adventurous and risky so why would you not want to pair this print with just about any solid color? For added effect wear a belt or purse with the same print or at least one that has one of the colors in the print. If animal prints aren’t your thing you can always pick any patterned shoe such as a floral, but I strongly encourage you to get out of that comfort zone and try that animal print. You won’t regret it I assure you! For my example I chose a very form fitting sleeveless dress that hits just below or above the knee depending on your height. I paired the dress with a gorgeous pair of leopard high heels trimmed in red. I decided to add a little more to the outfit with a cute thin red belt. You can also wear a leopard print belt if you wish or carry a red or leopard print purse. With this outfit you a sure to turn a few heads!

#2: Statement Necklace
Wearing an awesome necklace is a must for the LBD. It draws attention to your face and, if you choose the right color for your skin tone, will make you stand out and look amazing. Don’t worry about it being too much. Statement necklaces come in all sizes so if you have a smaller frame wear one that is slightly smaller. Fuller figured women can pull off the larger pieces so by all means ladies do that! To add even more to your outfit try to match either the shoes or the purse to the color of the necklace. For my example I chose a sleeveless dress with a tight waist that flares out from the waist down. This style works well with all body types and can make the wearer feel like a princess. I think I’ll start calling this one the princess cut! I paired the dress with a beautiful necklace with green and clear diamond flowers. This necklace says hello I’m confident and girly and I’m not afraid to let you know it. To add to the outfit I paired the necklace with the cutest green high heels. With this outfit you will have every man in the room wanting your number.

#3: Gold Purse
Who doesn’t love gold accessories? The color gold pairs beautifully with black and makes you look very ritzy and classy. The trick is to keep it subtle. You don’t want to overdo it by wearing too much gold jewelry or having all your accessories in gold. The best way to keep it subtle yet still amazing is wearing a gold purse. A cute gold clutch or purse will make that small difference between boring and interesting. You can add to the outfit by pairing the gold purse with one other gold accessory. Wear a cute gold necklace or gold shoes. Just remember ladies with gold keep it simple. For my example I chose a cap sleeved dress that is tight in the waist then flares down from there. This style is very elegant and goes well with all body types. I paired the dress with a sequined gold purse. This is the perfect purse for that dinner party coming up or for a night out on the town. To add to the outfit I added black heels with gold leaves. The leaves create that subtle gold look I was talking about and make the whole outfit look dressy and glamourous. With this outfit you’re sure to steal the spotlight.

#4: Bold Print Scarf
A scarf is always a great accessory for any outfit. For the LBD it’s often overlooked but it shouldn’t be. Scarves come in a variety of colors and patterns so the sky is the limit when trying to accessorize that dress. If you really want to stand out and be noticed wear a scarf with a bold pattern. This will make you look daring and bold. You can always just wear a plain bold color but what’s the fun in that? A black dress is the perfect canvas to create an awe inspiring outfit with fantastic printed accessories. To add to the outfit you should match your shoes to one of the colors in the scarf. This will pull the whole outfit together so everything matches and flows just right. For my example I chose a simple sleeveless black dress that will look great on everyone. I paired the dress with a purple animal print scarf that is absolutely adorable. To add to the outfit I picked a pair of purple heeled booties that match the lighter purple in the scarf. This is the perfect outfit for a day out with friends. With this outfit you will be ready to conquer your day knowing you’re beautiful and coordinated.

#5: Red Accessories
I saved my favorite for last! Red accessories are the best thing possible to pair with your LBD. The color red is super sexy and will make that dress look so hot you may need to carry a fire extinguisher with you to put out all those fires you fierce woman! Just be sure you have the attitude to wear red. Red is a very confident color so you must be assertive and sure of yourself while wearing it. If you do this you will have no problem getting everyone’s attention….are you sure you can handle it? For my example I chose a long halter dress with a plunging neckline. If you don’t have the assets to fill out the top just be sure to buy a bra with lots of extra padding and one that pushes you up. Victoria’s Secret sells a wonderful bra that adds 2 cup sizes! For you ladies that are already well endowed this is the perfect dress for you. I paired the dress with a gorgeous pair of red strappy heels and a beautiful red and diamond rose necklace with matching earrings. The flowers give the outfit a very feminine feel and the heels of course make it super sexy. With this outfit you will feel on fire!

I’m sure there are many more ways to accessorize the LBD. I just chose 5 that I absolutely love and I believe will make you look your best. As always I love feedback. Please leave me a comment or shoot me an email with any comments or suggestions. You can also follow me on Instagram…search Fashionable Tigress…and you can like my Facebook page under the same name. Must have shoes of the week

I would like to thank everyone for all the feedback from last week's shoes of the week post. Many of you feel that 5 shoes was too many and you wanted to see how I'd pair the shoes up with an outfit. So I've decided to give you what you want. Starting with this post and going forward I'll only pick one pair of must have shoes of the week then pick an outfit or two that I feel would look awesome with the shoes. If you have any more suggestions or comments please feel free to leave me a comment on here or email me directly at fashionabletigress@gmail.com

This week I was shopping online and I came across the most awesome pair of heeled booties! The black and white checkered pattern immediately caught my attention because to me these shoes have a feeling of the dressy days of the early 20th century. If you're wondering what the heck would I wear with shoes like that the answer is simply something black. With that being said, be sure to wear plain black not something else patterned. You want these gorgeous shoes to stand out not compete for attention with your outfit. Also I wouldn't wear different colors. These shoes don't need to get overshadowed by colorful apparel. For one of my examples I chose a black sweater dress. It's still cold outside and you want to stay warm but at the same time feel super sexy and confident. For my other example I chose skinny jeans and a black sweater. This is still a dressy outfit but since you're wearing jeans it gives the outfit a more casual feel. So where did I find these amazing shoes? I found them online at shoe dazzle. And if you're not already a member they are offering an awesome deal of buy one get one free right now! So all you ladies out there should go check it out!

Thanks to everyone for reading and following my posts. Don't forget you can also follow me on instagram and Facebook under fashionable tigress. Be sure to check back Wednesday for my top 3 picks of the week and I hope everyone has an amazing week!
