Are You A True Fashionista?

Are you obsessed with fashion? Do you always have to be the first person to purchase the hottest new items from the store? Does the newest edition of the world's top fashion magazine make your stomach do crazy little flips? If you answered yes to at least one of these questions you may very well be a true fashionista! By definition a fashionista is a person who is a devoted follower of fashion. Many people may think they have what it takes to define themselves as a fashionista but only a few will ever truly live up to the title. So, what exactly does it take to earn the right to call yourself a fashionista? These 10 signs will help you determine once and for all if you are a true fashionista or merely trendy.

#1-Fashion magazines are your novel

Do you always have the latest edition of your favorite fashion magazine by your bedside or are you following them on social media? If the answer is yes then you are definitely a lover of fashion. What makes you a fashionista is if you quote said magazine to all your friends. When you are out shopping and you see a cute dress what's the first thing that pops into your mind? Is it “oh how cute. I think I will get that and wear it on my next date.” Or do you think “omg cosmo said this is the hottest new dress of the season and I have to get it in coral because it's a great spring color.” If the second one sounds more like you then you are definitely a fashionista. A true fashionista always does her research on what's fashionable and never leaves home without her “novel”.

#2-You never leave the house without your makeup on

A true fashionista knows that the world is a runway and you are always being watched wherever you go. No I don't mean to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I mean people will always look to see what someone else is wearing and what they are doing. It's simply in our nature to watch other people's lives which is why reality TV is so popular. A fashionista always wants to put her best face forward and make sure she is on point at all times. Who wants to go out of the house looking tired and slovenly dressed? If you can honestly say you do this every so often then you are merely trendy and not a true fashionista. I never leave the house without makeup on...NEVER!

#3-Your hair and nails are always on point

Nothing messes up a great pair of open toe shoes like funky toenails! A true fashionista always makes sure her nails are done and if they are looking a little scraggly before her appointment date then she will wear closed toe shoes until they are looking great again. The same goes for fingernails and hair. A true fashionista at least has her fingernails well manicured even if they are not painted although most of the time they are. As far as hair goes, a fashionista always maintains her color by never letting the roots show and her hair is always clean, fresh, and smells wonderful even when it's not fixed up. If you've ever left the house with bed hair you are not a true fashionista!

#4-Your outfit has to match

This is something that actually goes slightly against high fashion. There are many designers who feel it is unnecessary for an outfit to actually match. However, a true fashionista knows this is only for fashion runway shows and not for real life. Nothing is more annoying to me than seeing a woman who has obviously been watching too many episodes of top model and wants to try and incorporate that style into her life and ends up looking totally ridiculous. A true fashionista will take hot new items that designers have put together in photographs and separate them so they match things already in her wardrobe. If you have ever left the house wearing a plaid shirt with striped pants and leopard print shoes you are merely trendy because a true fashionista would never leave the house not matching!

#5-You know what's in your closet at all times

Nothing is more annoying than getting to the store and finding a great pair of shoes then wondering if you have anything at home that will go with them. So you end up either buying them and hoping for the best or standing there staring at the shoes for 15 minutes trying desperately to remember anything at all in your closet you could pair them with. A true fashionista takes either an actual or mental inventory of her entire wardrobe so she always knows within 5 minutes whether something found in a store will work with something from home. This may sound hard but a true lover of fashion will find it very easy to do because when you have a passion for something you tend to pay more attention to it. A true fashionista is always prepared when out shopping!

#6-Your closet is super organized

Having a closet that is arranged by style and color makes it much easier to find what you want to wear for the day and it helps with remembering what's in there. So for those of you who think #5 is too hard, organizing your closet will make it really easy to keep a mental inventory of your wardrobe. Not to mention it just looks beautiful. Nothing warms a fashionista's heart more than seeing a huge closet full of color coordinated clothing because it's not only pleasing to the eye but it also says the owner of the closet really cares about their stuff. When you go shopping do you want to walk into a store and see clothing thrown everywhere and not in it's proper place? Of course not! So, why would you want your closet to be any different? A true fashionista cares about her clothing and wants to keep it organized and looking new for as long as possible.

#7-You will deal with some discomfort to look amazing

Have you ever worn an uncomfortable pair of shoes just because they match your dress perfectly? This is something a true fashionista has come to understand is just a way of life. I've seen people in gorgeous dresses walking around in flip flops and I'm like WHY?! Their answer is always the same....their shoes were hurting their feet so they took them off. A true fashionista will fight through the pain just to look amazing and won't take the darn shoes off until they get to the car. Look at wedding dresses. Brides are always wearing uncomfortable dresses to get married in and they suffer through that pain so they have a memorable day and great pictures. With a fashionista this is an every day thing. You always want to leave a lasting impression in someone's mind and maybe they will take away some awesome fashion tips from seeing your outfit. I can't count the number of times I've received compliments on an outfit and I'm thinking of how uncomfortable I am but at the same time I was able to beautify someone's day. A true fashionista knows this is worth the pain.

#8-You own at least two of the hottest new trends each season

What's all the hard work you put in checking out the latest fashion magazines and all that online shopping worth if you don't walk away with a couple of the hottest new trends each season? This is a major perk of being a true fashionista. Not to mention you absolutely love sharing your outfit ideas with others and enjoy always being asked where you got something. How can you help others look stylish if you yourself aren't keeping up with all the new trends? Don't get me wrong, you don't always want to try everything that comes out but the one's you're obsessing over you should totally get! A true fashionista always incorporates new fashion trends into her wardrobe to create her own awesome style.

#9- You always think you could wear that outfit better

Have you ever found yourself looking at someone's outfit and thinking it would look way better on you or you would make it look nicer with different shoes or accessories? This is something that always goes on in the mind of a true fashionista. I know it sounds a bit snobbish but it's in our very nature to always be fashion minded and when we see someone wearing something that doesn't fit their body type or maybe they wore it with the wrong shoes we always think we could do it better. But luckily most fashionistas know to keep their opinions to themselves. I have upset many people by telling them they don't match or the outfit just isn't for them so I've learned through the years to only give advice when asked and even then sugar coat what I say just a bit. This is both a curse and a blessing for a true fashionista.

#10- People always want your advice on fashion decisions

You know you're a true fashionista when people start coming to you for advice on their fashion decisions. Nothing makes a fashionista happier than giving honest advice and helping someone to look their absolute best. This is why many fashionistas like myself start fashion blogs. We want the whole world to be beautiful and we certainly appreciate seeing the awesome fashion efforts of others. I will spend hours writing and perfecting a post just to make sure my readers will love it and hopefully get something out of it. One of the best accomplishments of a true fashionista is being able to help with the makeover process of another person. I've been invited on several shopping trips and helped pick out clothes for people and the look on their faces when they see themselves in what I picked for them makes my time and effort completely worth it. A true fashionista only appears to be snobbish but in actuality she loves bringing out the best in others through fashion.

How many of the signs pertain to you? If you have all 10 like me then you are definitely a true fashionista. If you have between 5 and 9 you are a fashionista in training. If you have 1-4 then you are merely a trendy woman who loves to look pretty and there's nothing wrong with that. How many of you are total fashionistas? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and tell me which category you fall under and why. Are there other signs that pertain to a fashionista that wasn't on the list? I'd love to hear it so I can determine if I have that one too ;) If you would like to follow this blog you can do so through email or you can follow me on Facebook and Instagram @fashionabletigress and on Twitter and Pinterest @tigressfashion to get all the latest updates on blog posts and for other awesome pics and stuff that doesn't make it onto the blog. I hope you have an amazing weekend and remember to stay awesome my true fashionistas!!

Tigress' Picks Of The Week

Hey everyone. It's Thursday and that means it's time to share with you some amazing deals I found last weekend. Have you been shopping lately? If so I'm sure you've noticed that the spring items are starting to go on sale to make room for all the awesome summer items. This is one of the best times of the year to go shopping and I plan to take full advantage of these sales this weekend 😆 Why didn't I shop all the sales last weekend? Because the store being featured today doesn't need to put stuff on sale because all of their clothing is already super affordable. So what store offers great deals all year long?...

What's Trending Right Now At ROSS

I absolutely love Ross and I go shopping there as often as possible. You can always find great prices there and many times I have found what I call super deals. A super deal is when you find an item that is pretty pricey at other stores but you buy it for about 80% off. There have been many times I have found a popular name brand purse or shoes and gotten them really cheap. You can find anything at Ross from clothing and shoes to items for your bathroom and kitchen. Every time I shop there I end up staying an hour at the bare minimum but most of the time it's at least two hours spent browsing through all their amazing inventory. So what items do I have to share with you this week?

First Picture: less than $20
Jewel neckline blouse
Floral blouse with necklace
Skinny jeans
Coral elephant pattern shirt
Cream Paris shirt

Second Picture: less than $10
Striped casual dress
Colorful patterned tank dress

Third Picture: less than $40
Black and white striped BJ purse
Black wedge sandals
Red sling back heels
Pink and ivory floral BJ purse

I wanted to get both of the purses so bad but I had just purchased a Betsy Johnson purse from Burlington the week before so I reluctantly put them both back. The shoes were super cute especially the red ones but I decided not to get them either because my shopping budget for the week was already getting pretty low. I ended up leaving with the skinny jeans, jewel neckline blouse, coral elephant pattern shirt, cream Paris shirt, and the striped casual dress. The floral shirt with the necklace didn't fit me right and the colorful patterned tank dress was cute but it draped over my curves too much and looked as if it was swallowing me. I will try to feature everything I purchased on future blog posts but they will definitely be available to view on my Instagram page.

Did you like any of the items I picked for the week? Are you planning to make a mad dash to the store to snap up these great deals before they are gone? 😉 I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions so please leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Be sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram @fashionabletigress and on Twitter and Pinterest @tigressfashion. I just started using Snapchat so as soon as I can figure out how to properly work it I will leave my username for that as well. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week and just remember it's almost the weekend!!

Floral Dress And Nude Wedges

Happy hump day everyone! It's halfway to the weekend and I don't know about you but I'm super excited. I have my normal shopping day on Friday then I get to spend Saturday with my bff whom I haven't seen in forever! It's going to be an awesome weekend 😎 Speaking of awesome did you get to see the sneak peek of today's outfit on my Instagram and Facebook this past Sunday? If so I bet you've been dying to know where you can snag one of these beautiful dresses yourself for only $10....

I seriously need to take out stock in Walmart because I'm always posting outfits from there but it's really hard not to buy their cute stuff when you're already there shopping for your groceries and beauty items. So yet again I found this absolutely gorgeous dress at Walmart. I wasn't even shopping for clothes when I saw this one hanging on a rack in the middle of the ailse. They had them advertised for spring and of course I fell for it hook line and sinker. But honestly how could I not want to get this dress when it's just so pretty. The material is thick, the fit is perfect, and the green coloring of the dress looks amazing on me. I was going to wear some pink heels with this dress to match the floral pattern but at the last minute decided to switch it to a pair of nude wedges. Part of this decision was based on the fact that my pink heels are open toe and I haven't had a chance to get my pedicure yet. Luckily nude shoes go with practically everything so I was able to make the switch and still look coordinated. I've had these Steve Madden wedges for a very long time and I found them at Ross which is my other go to place for super great deals! This is the perfect outfit for church or for a date with your sweetheart. If you don't want to wear anything with a giant heel like these wedges then you can always find a cute pair of pink or nude ballet flats to wear with the dress. To recreate this look:

Dress: Walmart $10
Shoes: Ross $25

Isn't this dress beautiful? Are you planning on going out to snag one of these beauties before they are all gone? How would you wear it differently? I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook for updates on blog posts as they go live and to see cute pics from photoshoots and my everyday life. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and just remember it's only 3 days until the weekend...

Must Have Shoes Of The Week

Hey everyone! How are you doing this Monday afternoon? It's the beginning of a new work week so let's get it started so you can get back to the weekend once more. Is anyone already making plans for the weekend? I always try to have plans at least one week in advance but I know there are some of you who just fly by the seat of your pants! No matter if you're the spontaneous type or a super planner, I have found some must have shoes just for you. These shoes are definitely needed during this time of the year and it's always better to be safe than ruin a great pair of shoes. 😉 So what the heck am I talking about?...

You've heard the saying "April showers bring May flowers" and it couldn't be more true for this spring season as it has rained consistently for the past couple of months here in Southeast Texas. There have been nice breaks in the rain where it has been absolutely gorgeous outside but for the most part there is a chance of rain every single day. This coming weekend is no exception. The rain chance for Saturday in particular is around 80% last time I checked and I really wanted to do something outdoors with my bff. If it gets too bad it may have to be postponed but just a little rain should never deter you from enjoying the outdoors as long as you have your waterproof mascara on. Another essential item that is a must have for this type of year is the rain boot. We all love to play dress up and wear our best shoes with our cute outfits but trust me when I say nothing ruins your evening quite like ruining a good pair of shoes. I remember growing up in the country and everyone having the same ugly plain black rubber boots. I hated those boots but I was always forced to wear them. Thank God rain boots are now really cute with a variety of colors and patterns to choose from. So you can still go out with your friends in a super cute outfit and still have really stylish shoes to go with it. This week I'm not going to show you how to pair said rain boots with outfits because rain boots can literally be worn with anything and it's considered acceptable as long as the colors or patterns don't clash. Instead I have chosen 10 pairs of rain boots to share with you that I think are the absolute cutest ones I have ever seen...

First Picture:
Red Boots- Michael Kors
Nautical Boots- Frugal Coupon Living
Floral Boots- Ali Express
Heart Printed Boots- Ali Express
Houndstooth Printed Boots- This Next

Second Picture:
Pink Boots- Content Injection
Paisley Print Boots- Zappos
Leopard Print Boots- Istay Dry
Brown Striped Boots- Burberry
Blue Heart Printed Boots- Ali Express

If I was going to pick a pair of these to buy for myself I'd choose the nautical pair that I found online from Frugal Coupon Living. These are super cute and could be worn with a variey of things from my wardrobe. I also love the boots from Burberry as they are really classy looking and the colors are neutral which would go with so many different outfits! Which pair was your favorite? Do you already have a pair that you absolutely love and would like to share them with me? I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions so leave me a comment and tell me what you think.  Be sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram @fashionabletigress & on Twitter and Pinterest @tigressfashion. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week and just remember there are only 4 more days until the weekend 😎  Also don't forget to check back on Wednesday for my next awesome outfit post.

Pink And Green Plaid Shirt

Happy Sunday everyone! Are you enjoying your weekend so far? I've had an amazing weekend with my sweetie but now it's time for me to head back to work so I can once again start the countdown to the next weekend 😎 Did you get a chance to check out my picks of the week post from Thursday? If not you should certainly do that so you can see the amazing deals I found for you. If you have already read it then you should recognize the shirt I'm wearing. So where did I get it and how much can you get it for?

I saw this shirt as I was browsing through the racks at Burlington last weekend and I immediately loved the colors in the shirt. I don't own many plaid button up shirts so I figured I'd give this one a try and see how it fit me. The material is really soft and comfortable and it doesn't fit too tight across the chest which was a major win for me. In the past I've steered clear of many button up shirts because of the dreaded chest gap 😮 I love the casual look of this shirt and I knew almost instantly how I was going to wear it. To keep in theme with the casual look I paired the shirt with a pair of distressed skinny jeans I purchased from Ross also last weekend and my amazing converse sneakers I found at Academy a few years back. The jeans are really stylish and comfortable because they have the wonderful stretch of spandex which makes for a better fit overall. It's nice to have skinny jeans that retain their shape and not be too overly snug. I am obsessed with converse sneakers and plan to own a pair in every color eventually. These are the ultimate casual shoes for everyday comfort wear but are super stylish which is always a big plus. This is the perfect outfit for a day of shopping, running errands, or a game night with friends such as bowling or miniature golf. To make this shirt more dressy you can always wear a cute pair of ballet flats or boots with it instead of sneakers. To recreate this look:

Shirt: Burlington @ less than $15
Jeans: Ross: @ less than $20
Sneakers: Converse (Academy) @ $30

Isn't this the cutest plaid button up shirt you've ever seen?! Do you like how I wore it? How would you wear it differently? I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Be sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram @ fashionable tigress to get updates on all my blog posts and to see pics and other cool stuff that doesn't make it onto the blog. Don't forget to check back tomorrow for my must have shoes of the week post. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and be safe.

How To Wear Your New Spring Shoes Part 3

Hey everyone! It's Friday and you know what that means...it's time for the weekend. I hope you had an amazing week but now it's time for some fun and relaxation. So have you made any plans yet? I have some shopping to do and then I plan to attend a seminar on real estate. Sounds super fun right?! Before I get to all that it's time to reveal the third and final post on how to wear your new spring shoes. I've really enjoyed writing these posts and researching all the latest shoe styles for you. I'll certainly have to do this again for the fall season. So what shoes did I pick for the final 5 and what examples did I choose to show how to wear them?

#1: Mules
Every time I mention this style of shoe someone always asks what the heck is that?! I usually laugh and explain what it is of course and that's exactly what I'm going to do now for those of you who may have never heard this term in reference to shoes. The mule is simply a pair of closed toe shoes that have an open back. They can be any heel height from flats to high heels. There are also many different types from casual to dressy so depending on which type you are wearing will determine what outfit to wear them with. If you are wearing a very casual pair of mules then pairing them with jeans and a blouse might be the way to go. When you have a dressy pair of mules you want to wear them with dresses or business attire. The heeled mules are very popular for this spring season so finding the right dressy outfit to match is a must. For my example I chose an orange pair of heeled mules and paired them with black dressy pants and an orange blouse. This is the perfect outfit for the office or a dinner date with co-workers. To recreate this look:

Shoes: Malone Souliers
Pants: My Theresa
Blouse: Michael Kors

#2: Menswear
When women first started working in offices back in the day they were restricted to dresses or skirts and heels. Thank God we have come into the 21st century and women are now able to cross over into more gender bending attire. I love the menswear look on a woman. To me it screams I'm not afraid to stand out and be noticed and I want to be treated with just as much respect as any man! Women now wear pantsuits with loafers and I think it's absolutely amazing. Don't get me wrong I love wearing heels but there's just something really sophisticated about a woman wearing a cute pair of loafers. Come to think of it, designers have actually crossed menswear with heels to create some pretty amazing looking shoes. The menswear style can be worn with anything depending on the type of shoe you get. The heeled ones need business attire or dresses but the flat ones like the loafers can be worn casually with jeans and a shirt. For my example I chose a cute pair of white menswear loafers and paired them with skinny jeans, a black & white striped shirt, and a white blazer. I love this outfit! It's very casual but the blazer makes it a little more dressy so you could wear this to the office on casual Friday and still look presentable. To recreate this look:

Shoes: HM
Jeans: Mobile Harrods
Shirt: Alexander Wang
Blazer: River Island

#3: Wedges
Who doesn't love a great pair of wedges? These are the perfect shoes to wear with those beautiful spring dresses and they also look amazing with the retro look which is really popular for this season. I don't think I know a single woman who doesn't own a pair of these very pretty shoes. You can wear wedges with just about anything so spending a little extra money on a pair of these will be money well spent. Going out to dinner and not feeling like wearing those 6 inch heels with your gorgeous new dress...grab your wedges. Hanging out with friends on a warm spring day wearing a cute pair of capris and a blouse but wanting something a little more dressy than sandals...wedges are the way to go! Wedges are one of my favorite styles of shoes to own for the simple fact that I can get the height I want and look super feminine but be more stable than in a pair of really high heels. If for some reason you don't own a pair of these beauties please remedy that as soon as possible. For my example I chose a pair of black platform wedges and paired them with a floral dress and a black purse. This is the perfect outfit for that dinner date with your sweetie. To recreate this outfit:

Shoes: Charles by Charles David
Dress: Ted Baker
Purse: Scoop NYC

#4: Embellished
Embellished shoes are really adorable! Whether it's a pair of sandals or an amazing pair of heels it's always nice to walk around with decorations on your feet :) Not to mention this style is super hot for this spring season. The only problem I find with these shoes is figuring out what to wear them with. If the embellishments on your feet have a pattern like flowers or something similar then you want to wear a plain color and let the pretty shoes stand out. Nothing irritates me more than seeing someone wearing mixed patterns and calling it stylish. If the designs on the shoes are just one certain color and not really a pattern then you have more clothing options of course. Personally if I'm going to wear any kind of decoration on my shoes I'm going to want that to stand out above whatever it is I'm wearing. These shoes are great to wear to a formal event like prom or a wedding when you want to feel like a beautiful princess. For my example I chose a pair of embellished heeled sandals and paired them with a coral dress and a jeweled clutch purse. This is the perfect outfit to wear to a friend's wedding. To recreate this look:

Shoes: Paul Andrew
Dress: The Outnet
Purse: BCBG

#5: Studded
Even though the studded look has really blown up this season, I have always loved this look and have been wearing studded shoes for a long time. You can get any type of shoe studded from sneakers and flats to heels and wedges. These shoes are absolutely amazing and they give your whole outfit an edgy look without you even trying to be edgy. A few years back I had the cutest pair of black studded ballet flats that I wore with everything. I currently have a pair of white studded wedge sandals that I love and can't wait to break out for the spring and summer seasons. My new obsession however is the Valentino studded heels that are all over Pinterest and Instagram. I simply must have a pair of these gorgeous shoes as soon as possible and that's why I used them as my example for this style. Aren't they absolutely amazing?! These particular shoes work best with dressy outfits such as dresses or skinny jeans with blouses. If you're more of a tomboy or just not super girly then you can get the sneaker ones and wear them with your super casual outfits. For my example I chose a beautiful pair of blue Valentino studded heels and paired them with a blue floral dress and a nude purse. This is also a great outfit to wear to a wedding or on a really nice dinner when your sweetie takes you somewhere super special. To recreate this look:

Shoes: Valentino
Dress: Karen Millen
Purse: Go Jane

So which style is your favorite? Are you like me and want to own them all? I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Don't forget to follow me on Facebook and Instagram for updates on blog posts as they are posted and to see pics and other little tidbits that don't make it onto this blog. I hope you enjoy the rest of your Friday and have an awesome weekend. Be sure to check back on Sunday to see my next outfit post and get out to the store and get yourself a pair of these amazing shoes.

Tigress' Picks Of The Week

Hey everyone! How are you doing this Thursday morning? It's raining yet again here in Southeast Texas so I'm huddled inside my house waiting for the rain to subside and hoping it's not enough to make the recent flooding worse. I also have a huge hole in my tire from a screw I picked up somewhere and they had to order me a new tire so I'm without a car until Tuesday 😞 BUT this is my last night of work before the weekend and I'm about to share with you some amazing items I found last week so it's not all bad. So which store did I hit up this time? What great deals did I find for you?

What's Trending Right Now At Burlington

I love shopping at Burlington! They always have the best name brands at amazing prices. I once found a pair of Ralph Lauren pants for $25. That was one of those happy memories that I will always cherish haha 😂 Last week when I got there I immediately spied a gorgeous white and black Betsy Johnson purse that was a must have for me. I'm obsessed when her style and I buy one of her purses every chance I get. Burlington has something for everyone! No matter your age, size, or gender there's always an outfit or a great pair of shoes just for you. There's also amazing accessories to be found there like purses, sunglasses, watches, and jewelry. Last week when I was there I found not only the aforementioned purse but a ton of cute clothes that I just had to try on. So which items did I choose for you this week?

First Picture: All less than $20
Floral tank
Blue&pink striped shirt
Black new York city shirt
Pink&green plaid shirt
Skinny jeans

Second Picture: All less than $15
Blue peplum dress
Black patterned tank dress

Third Picture: All less than $15
Blue&white plaid shirt dress
Pink patterned tank dress

Fourth Picture: All less than $30
Black lace up heels
Statement necklace
White&black Betsy Johnson purse
Floral heels

The floral tank is super cute on but I gave myself a limit and it didn't make the final cut. The black new York city shirt was really cute on but it was too low in the back so I decided not to get it. The skinny jeans didn't fit my frame just right so I put those back also. All the dresses were really cute but a little snug and I didn't feel like running out to the racks to get a bigger size so I didn't get any of those either. Both pairs of heels are awesome but the black ones I almost bought. It was between the heels and the purse and the purse won out. The statement necklace was gorgeous and I may go back for that one but then I'd have to find something to wear with it. Not too bad of a problem actually as it gives me an excuse to shop 😉 So out of all the clothes I tried on only 2 made it to my wardrobe. I bought the blue & pink striped shirt and the pink & green plaid shirt. Both of these shirts fit very well and look super cute on so they will be featured on future blog posts..

Did you like my picks for this week? Are you already planning your shopping trip to Burlington this weekend? Which item was your favorite and how would you pair it to make an outfit? I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Be sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram to get all the latest updates on blog posts as they happen and to see cute pictures that don't make it onto the blog. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and don't forget to check back tomorrow for the final post about how to wear your new spring shoes.

Nautical Shirt And White Shorts

Happy hump day everyone 😆 This week is officially halfway over and the weekend is fast approaching so I hope you're getting those weekend plans in order. I plan to do a little shopping and maybe have a night out with friends but that's not a for sure thing just yet. Did you see the sneak peek of today's post on Instagram and Facebook yesterday? If not be sure to follow me on both to get updates and outfit pics not featured on here. Whether you saw the pic or not, I have an awesome outfit to share with you! Do you love the nautical look? Do you want something comfortable and casual? If you said yes to both questions look so further than this adorable outfit 😍

The first time I saw this shirt at Ross I fell in love with it. I didn't even try it on! I knew it was going to fit me and I knew I had to have it. Also it was only $5 so that to me is a super steal. I love anchors and the nautical look because it screams preppy casual and it's a style I've always been attracted to. This shirt is great because the material is stretchy but not overly so meaning it doesn't hug your body snugly rather it gently hangs over your curves. The white anchors are the perfect contrast to the dark navy blue of the shirt and it gives the whole top a patriotic feel. The only thing missing to complete that theme was something red...maybe I'll do that for Independence day 😉 I paired the shirt with some cute white shorts I found at Burke's Outlet last weekend. I love these  shorts because they aren't too tight and they hit at just the right length for my height. I'm 5'3" and I can't wear shorts that are too long but at the same time I don't want to show off my behind so these shorts are the perfect solution. I brought the whole outfit together with a pair of white sandals that I got from Sears a few years ago. I know these sandals are probably not available at Sears anymore but I've seen this style in many different stores including Walmart. This is the perfect casual outfit for a day of shopping or running errands. I wore it to hang out with my boyfriend and his family and I felt extremely comfortable and really pretty 😊 To recreate this look:

Shirt: Ross $5
Shorts: Burke's Outlet $15
Shoes: Sears $30

Isn't this the cutest nautical outfit ever?! OK maybe I'm over exaggerating but it is pretty awesome. You should snag yourself one of these shirts soon before they are all gone and for that price they may just sell out pretty quick! So what do you think of this outfit? How would you wear it differently? I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions so leave me a comment and tell me what you think. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week and be sure to check back tomorrow for my picks of the week post.

Must Have Shoes Of The Week

Happy Monday everyone! Are you ready to get this week started? If you live in Southeast Texas then you know we are dealing with some heavy flooding today. I hope you are safe and please stay off the roads as many are completely under water. I usually start my week on Sunday but I had a stomach bug yesterday so I'll start my work week tonight if the water receeds enough for me to do so. On a positive note, I still found some awesome shoes for today's post and they are only $40! So where can you find these awesome shoes?

I was checking out my polyvore app like I usually do during the week when I came across a gorgeous pair of lace up heels in nude then I saw them in black also and I knew then that these were definitely must have shoes! I love lace up heels for spring and they are especially hot for this spring season so getting these in a variety of colors is definitely a great idea! In my opinion it's always best to splurge on a pair of shoes in a neutral color that way you get the most use out of them and it's money well spent. Don't get me wrong I love colorful shoes, but sometimes it can be hard to find outfits to pair them with. These shoes can be found online at Yoins and they are only $40 a pair so buying both colors isn't out of the question. For my first example I paired the nude lace up heels with a gorgeous floral dress and a matching floral purse. This is the perfect outfit for a dinner date with your significant other. For my second example I paired the black lace up heels with a beautiful pink & black high low dress and a matching black purse. This outfit would be great for a formal occasion like prom or a formal dinner if you want a pop of bright color. To recreate these looks:

Nude lace up heels: Yoins
Floral dress: John Lewis
Floral purse: Accessorize

Black lace up heels: Yoins
Pink & Black dress: Amazon
Black Purse: Far Fetch

Aren't these shoes amazing?! The look and the price are great so hopefully you are able to snag yourself a pair soon. If I had to choose just one I'd probably pick the nude ones because they will go with more of my spring outfits. Which pair would you choose? How would you wear them? I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook to get updates on blog posts as they go live and to see other pics and cool stuff that doesn't make it onto the blog. I hope you enjoy the rest of your Monday and just keep in mind...there's only 4 more days until the weekend 😉

Navy Blue Romper

Happy Sunday everyone 🌞 How is your weekend going so far? Mine was great! Had a blast out with some friends and family at the lake last night but now it's time for me to get this work week started. I'd like to kick off this week by sharing with you an amazing blue romper I found last weekend. If you saw my picks of the week post on Thursday then you've already seen this cutie. So where did I get it and how much can you snag one for?

I saw this romper while browsing through the racks of Burke's Outlet last weekend and at first I wasn't sure I'd like it. It was a little weird looking with all the cutout designs on it but at the same time it was cute. I figured it wouldn't hurt to try it on so I went to the dressing room with low expectations. Boy was I wrong. I love the way this romper fits me! It completely covered my behind which is great because I don't want to ever show that off and I love the way the sleeves flow down to a point at the inner part of the elbows. It gives the whole outfit kind of a retro look which is awesome! My only complaint is that it's a little low cut in the front so if you don't have the assets to fill out the top it won't look right on you. If you love it so much and want to wear it anyway you can always take it to a tailor and have it altered. I decided to wear my romper with a pair of Navy blue lace up wedges I got from DSW about a year ago. These wedges are super comfortable and stylish and I love the way they look with this romper. I felt confident and beautiful in this outfit and that's how we ladies should always feel. This is the perfect outfit for a date night with your girlfriends which is exactly where I wore it. To recreate this look...

Romper: Burke's Outlet $15
Wedges: DSW $40

Isn't this romper super cute?! Are you planning to find a Burke's Outlet near you and snag yourself one? If so I'd love to hear how you plan to wear it. What shoes would you pair it with? Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts and opinions. Be sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram to get up to date information on new blog posts and to see pictures that don't make it onto the blog. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and don't forget to check back tomorrow for the must have shoes of the week post.

How To Wear Your New Spring Shoes Part 2

Happy Friday! I bet you're super glad the weekend is finally here and you can take a break from your hectic work schedule. If you're like me then your weekend schedule is just as hectic but at least it's more fun :) Did you get a chance to read part 1 of how to wear your new spring shoes? If not you really should check it out because it has some awesome tips and outfit ideas for 5 amazing pairs of shoes that are hot for this season. This post is a continuation of that post and is the second in a 3 part series specifically for the spring season. For this post I have chosen 5 more great pairs of shoes that would be wonderful additions to anyone's spring wardrobe and paired them with cute outfit ideas just for you.

#1: Classic Sneakers
Who doesn't love a great pair of sneakers anytime of the year? The spring season is no exception when it comes to these very versatile shoes. Adidas are one of my all time favorite types of sneakers and the classic version of them are back on every fashionista's must have list. These shoes are super hot right now. I'm seeing them everywhere from Pinterest to Instagram and everything in between. They are being worn with just about anything including formal dresses. I don't think I'd take that much of a fashion risk but I might wear them with a fun skater skirt and a t-shirt. I feel the perfect way to wear these cuties is by pairing them with cropped skinny jeans, shorts, or capris and a t-shirt or tank top. The classic white pair is the best way to go with these because you can pair them with a wide variety of different colors so you will get more bang for your buck and because white is a great color for spring. For my example I chose a classic white pair of adidas and paired them with skinny jeans and a black & white striped shirt. This is the perfect casual outfit for a relaxing day at home or just hanging out with friends. To recreate this look:

Shoes: Need Supply
Jeans: Moda Operandi
Shirt: Liberty

#2: Scalloped Flats
This is a new style for the spring season. I don't remember seeing these in the past and if I did I didn't notice because they weren't in my face like they are now. There are many bloggers talking about this style and how perfect it is for this season and I'd have to agree with them. These shoes are, for lack of a better word, simply too cute. The first thing that comes to mind when I see this style is little girls clothing. Don't get me wrong it's a great style for any age but there's just something innocent and fresh looking about these shoes and it makes me want a pair really bad. I wouldn't wear these shoes with something super casual like blue jean shorts or sweats, but these would be perfect for those dressy skinny jeans, dresses, and skirts. For my example I chose a pair of scalloped flats in royal blue and paired them with white skinny jeans and a royal blue blouse. I love royal blue! It is a great color for spring and I think this outfit will be perfect for a lunch date with your girlfriends. To recreate this look:

Shoes: Bloomingdales
Jeans: House of Fraser
Blouse: Glamorous

#3: Booties
I love a great pair of booties. There are many different types of this style and what's popular varies from season to season. For example you wouldn't want to wear a pair of completely closed in booties in the heat of the summer or a pair of open toe booties in the winter. For this spring season the open toe booties are super popular. There are many different colors and varieties to choose from that it's almost impossible not to find a pair you like. I always find about 5 or 10 pairs of these that I want every time I go shopping. It's great that most of the time I'm able to control myself or I'd always be broke. But hey at least I'd look great right?! For this post I'm going to focus on the heeled bootie which is probably my absolute favorite type of this style to wear especially this time of the year. Heeled booties should never be worn with anything overly casual like blue jean shorts and I hate the way these look with capris and cropped skinny jeans. I always wear my heeled booties with dresses, skirts, and skinny jeans. Be careful wearing these with skinny jeans though as the jeans can cover up part of the shoe and if you have an awesome pair in a fun funky pattern then the last thing you want is for them to be covered. For my example I chose a pair of heeled booties in a blue plaid pattern and paired them with a black dress and a black purse. I love these shoes! The pattern is cute and different and like I said before blue is a great color for spring. This is the perfect outfit for a night out on the town. To recreate this look:

Shoes: Heels
Dress: Zaful
Purse: Relax Feel

#4: Gladiator Sandals
I've mentioned this style of shoe in a past blog post and for this one I'm bringing them up yet again. No post about spring shoes is complete without talking about the awesome gladiator sandals. It is my express opinion that every woman should own at least one pair of these beauties. They are perfect for those casual spring outfits but also work great with cute sun dresses and skirts too. You can even wear these cuties with your swimsuit to the beach. You simply must buy a pair of these for your wardrobe and I plan to do so as soon as I find the perfect pair. The only thing I wouldn't wear these with is anything overly formal or business related. I don't care too much for the ones that go almost all the way up to my knee and this is probably due to the fact that I'm very petite, but the ones that are ankle or shin high are perfect for my style. For my example I chose a tan pair of gladiator sandals and paired them with blue jean shorts and a cute floral blouse. This is the perfect outfit to wear on your next vacation to that little town where you'll be doing a lot of walking and sightseeing. To recreate this look:

Shoes: Matches Fashion
Shorts: Nordstrom
Blouse: New Look

#5: Fringe Sandals
Fringe has made a major comeback this year. It was popular in the 1970s and went away for quite awhile but apparently it never died out completely. This is one of the things I love about fashion! It's always revolving and things are being brought back that I was sad to see go..like bell bottom jeans. When I first saw this craze hit the stores this year I'm not going to lie I wasn't impressed. I'm not really a huge fan of the fringe look but on certain things it can be really cute. Fringe sandals...yes. Fringe vest...no! With that being said, I'll probably end up buying a cute pair of fringe shoes soon but only when I find a pair that I absolutely love and I feel is worth the money. Fringe can be found on many different styles of shoes but for this post I focused on the sandals because they are perfect for both the spring and the upcoming summer season. Fringe sandals can be worn with anything from casual to dressy but nothing formal or business related. This style will work best with dresses, skirts, capris, skinny jeans, cropped jeans, and shorts. For my example I chose an adorable pair of coral fringe sandals and paired them with capris and a floral tank top. This is another perfect outfit for that upcoming vacation or for just running errands in town. To recreate this look:

Shoes: HM
Capris: Navabi
Tank: It A List

How many of these 5 pairs do you already own? Which pair are you planning on buying now? I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Also be sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for updates on blog posts as they are posted. I hope you're super excited to go out and get a pair of new shoes now and have an idea of how you want to wear them. Be sure to check back next week for the third and final post on this subject for this season and I'll have my next outfit post up on Sunday. Have an awesome weekend and be safe :)

Tigress' Picks Of The Week

Hey everyone 😎 How's it going this wonderful Thursday morning? It's my last day of work for the week so I'm super excited to get this day started so I can get to my busy and exciting weekend. Have you found any great deals while out shopping lately? I have!! This past weekend I found some amazing stuff wonderfully priced that I want to share with you. So where is the place to go right now...

What's Trending Right Now At Burke's Outlet...

Have you heard of a store called Burke's Outlet? I had never heard of one until they opened one in my hometown awhile back and of course I had to give it a shot. Every since my first time there I have been hooked. They sale name brand items at dirt cheap prices. Before I discovered this place I was paying regular price at the department store so this was definitely a great find for me. They sell everything from clothes to home decor and none of it will break your pocket book. Be prepared to spend a few hours here to make sure you search every nook and cranny so you don't miss out on any of the wonderful deals. The only downside to this store is they are so cheap that I end up buying way more than I should. You should definitely look up the store's website and see where the closest one is to you so you can get to shopping ASAP. My recent shopping trip here was amazing. I found so many good deals and I ended up buying many of them. I just couldn't help myself because the stuff they sell is simply that cute. Here's just some of the awesome deals I found:

First Picture: All less than $15
Coral Tassel Tank
Green floral tank
Green cut-out design tank
Cream lace detail tank
Red & white striped shirt

Second Picture: All less than $15
Burgundy ruffle blouse
White & blue anchor tank
Navy blue & coral tank
Blue patterned bell sleeve blouse
Mint green peasant blouse

Third Picture: All less than $20
Blue & white dress
Multi-colored striped dress
Coral babydoll dress
Ivory floral dress
Navy blue lace romper

Fourth Picture: All less than $20
White shorts
Green mini skirt
Coral maxi skirt
White & black midi skirt

Fifth picture: All less than $40
Black & white with red striped purse
Orange & white striped sneakers
Black lace up flats
Black, white, and pink purse

I walked away without one of the purses which I was extremely bummed about seeing as they are Betsy Johnson purses and I love her style 😍 I bought the black lace up flats which I've already featured on the blog last weekend. I also ended up buying the Navy blue & coral tank, the blue patterned bell sleeve blouse, the blue & white dress, the Navy blue lace romper, the white shorts, and the coral maxi skirt. Like I said before I just couldn't help myself especially since I got all of this stuff for a grand total of less than $100. Where else are you going to find such amazing prices? Oh and I almost forgot to mention they have a loyalty rewards program. For every dollar you spend you get one point added onto your account. After you reach 200 points you get a $5 off coupon. Also they have loyalty shoppers day. On Friday if you have one of the rewards cards you get an additional 15% off your entire purchase. Pretty awesome huh?!
