Must Have Monday

Hey everyone and happy Monday! Are you super excited that a new week is here already?? Yeah me neither but I'm going to try and make the best of it by staying focused and positive. I have a 3 day weekend coming up and I'm really looking forward to that extra day of relaxation time with my sweetie. So, let's kick this week off right with some must have items that I'm sure you'll love as much as I do...if you're a cat lover that is :) That's right, for today's post I picked 5 accessories that are related to these cute fuzzy little creatures. So, what did I find and where can you snag them for yourself?

Must Haves
1-Cat Beanie (Kate Spade, $68)
2-Cat Necklace (M.L.G. Jewelry, $60)
3-Cat Umbrella (Claires, $10)
4-Cat Loafers (Neiman Marcus, Sold Out)
5-Cat Backpack (Rosegal, $44)

This little Kate Spade cat beanie is too cute for words and perfect for this winter season. You'll not only keep your head and ears warm but you'll look super cute doing it :) I love animal jewelry so this cat necklace is perfect for me and at only $60 it's a steal. This is now on my Valentine's Day Wish List :) Who wouldn't want to have an adorable cat umbrella to carry everywhere during the rainy winter season? This super cute cat umbrella is perfect for keeping you dry and stylish :) I was really bummed when I noticed these beautiful cat loafers were sold out! How horrible. Now I'm on a mission to find the second cutest pair :) I'm not a huge fan of backpacks but this cat one is too stinking cute! It's perfect if you're a college student or if you just prefer to carry a backpack everywhere. I kinda want one myself now :) If one of these items is now on your wish list be sure to visit POLYVORE to find out where you can get these cuties.

Aren't these accessories adorable? Which one is your favorite? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Be sure to spread the love by sharing this post with all your friends who love cats as much as I do. I hope you have an amazing week and happy shopping :)

3 Ways To Style Your Whites In Winter

Hey everyone and happy Friday. I hope you're having a wonderful start to your weekend. I know this post is a bit later than normal but it's been one hectic day for me so far and I don't see it slowing down until Sunday...hopefully LOL. So, do you have plans for the weekend yet? If so what do you plan to wear? How about something white? Yes you read that right...I said white. I've always heard the saying that you should never wear white after labor day but why not?! There are so many different ways to style white and it's such a classy color that I say go for it!! For today's post I decided to give you some ideas on how to style your favorite whites for winter so you can break those beautiful whites out of the closet :)

#1-White Dress
Have a beautiful white dress from summer clearance that you've been dying to wear? Throw on a cute jacket or coat and some adorable booties for an instant winter outfit. if it's really cold where you live you can also wear some fleece lined leggings so your legs can stay warm and toasty while rocking your cute new winter look. For my example I chose the classic black and white combo with a beautiful white dress with black sash and paired it with a black jacket and some black booties. You can choose any color combination you want which is why white is such an awesome color for winter :) You can shop this look HERE.

#2-White jumpsuit
Remember that awesome white jumpsuit that you loved wearing during the summer? Go ahead and wear it to that upcoming dinner date with your sweetie just throw on a jacket and some cute closed toe heels. For my example I went with the red and white color combination which is a personal favorite of mine. I chose a beautiful sleeveless white jumpsuit and paired it with a pretty red blazer and some red pumps. Again you can choose any other color you want and you can opt for flats or little booties instead if you'd like :) You can shop this look HERE.

#3-White jeans
Every woman needs at least one pair of white jeans because the sky is the limit with how you can style them. Winter is the perfect time to break out those white jeans and pair them with an awesome sweater and either some flats or sneakers. For my example I decided to pair these white jeans with the most adorable striped cat sweater I've ever seen and a pair of pointed toe lace up flats. You could also wear a dressier sweater and a nice pair of heels with your white jeans for a winter date night outfit :) You can shop this look HERE.

Are you a fan of white clothing? What one white item in your closet could you totally wear year round? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Be sure to spread the love and share this post with all your friends who would love ideas on how to style their white items for winter. I hope you have an amazing weekend and happy shopping :)

Pink And Tan Striped Tunic Sweater

Happy hump day everyone! I can't believe it's Wednesday already. Just two more nights of work and I'll be off for the weekend. I get to hang out with a good friend of mine on Friday, my sweetie on Saturday, then I have church Sunday morning. A full yet fun weekend ahead :) Do you have plans for the weekend yet? Is there a shopping trip in your future? If so, I have the cutest tunic for you! Not only is it super cute but it also comes in two different colors so you can choose the one that works best for you. So, what color did I choose and where can you find this tunic for yourself?

The Tunic
I found this tunic while on a recent shopping trip with my mom at Sears and I knew I had to have it. I love anything with stripes even if it's one big stripe across the middle like this one LOL. I chose this pretty pink and tan color scheme because these particular colors look good with my skin tone. The v-neck and the side slits are just extra cute little details that add to the beauty and awesomeness of this pretty little tunic. I'm still amazed at all the cute fashion finds I'm coming across in the misses section of various stores...I guess breaking out of the juniors section rut was a good idea ;) Oh, and did I mention I got this tunic for less than $15? How awesome is that?! There's nothing I love more than finding something super cute then realizing it's on sale!! The online price is currently $40 but Sears is always having sales so you should be able to snag one for way less soon. So, how did I end up styling this beauty and how can you change it up to match your style?

My Style
Originally I wanted to wear a pair of leggings and some UGGs with this tunic but I changed my mind when I realized I didn't have any leggings that would look good with this. Instead of running out and buying some I decided to go with plan B which is great considering I ended up wearing this as a casual everyday running errands outfit. I decided to pair this tunic with my Abercrombie and Fitch skinny jeans and my new tan heeled booties from Payless that my mom got me for Christmas. I think this outfit turned out very well considering the legs of the jeans were too tight to roll them up to exactly where I wanted them. If you want, you can opt for the leggings option mentioned above but wear some cute pointed toe or ballet flats to make the outfit just a bit more dressy. Regular flat boots would look cute as well if you want to stick with the casual look but don't like wearing heels. I've linked my look below if you like the way I styled this tunic or if you just really like one of the items pictured have to have one for yourself ;)

Shop This Look: Tunic / Jeans / Booties

Isn't this tunic adorable? Do you like how I styled it? How would you style it differently? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Be sure to spread the love by sharing this post with all your friends who would love this tunic as much as I do. I hope you have an amazing week and happy shopping :)

Must Have Monday

Hey everyone and happy Monday! I can't believe the weekend flew by as fast as it did, but I did get a lot done so I'm happy about that. So much to do and so little time to get it done...I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about! Hopefully this week goes by fast though so I can get to the weekend again and the ton of stuff that still needs to be finished. I'll start this week off right by diving right in to today's post....all things FUR. Every since I was a little girl I've been obsessed with fur especially fur coats. I always said when I grew up I was going to get the prettiest fur coat in the world LOL. Well, I've been grown for quite awhile now and while I still don't have any fur coats I do have a few things with faux fur which is still super soft, warm, and perfect for winter. I have picked 5 must have fur items to share with you today that I think are super cute and will make great additions to your winter fashion wardrobe.

Must Haves
1-Faux fur puff keychain (Guess, $22)
2-Faux fur hooded coat (Amazon, $59)
3-Fox fur bag (Dantes, $337)
4-Faux fox fur scarf (Kate Spade, $86)
5-Faux fur iPhone case (Browns Fashion, sold out)

These little puff ball keychains are the hottest accessory right now. I currently have 4 of them in different colors and styles and I plan to get more. This particular one is too cute because it comes with 3 different colored mini puff balls. I definitely need this in my life :) This coat is everything! How beautiful is this thing for real?! The fact that it's faux fur is really baffling since it looks so real, but if you're a huge animal lover this will be a plus for you and the price tag is a huge plus for me :) This little red fur purse is the only item listed that is real fur. You can probably tell that by the price tag since real fur is always WAY more expensive than faux fur. I think it's gorgeous but I really wish it wasn't real fox fur because then I could afford it. LOL :) This faux fox fur scarf by Kate Spade is so adorable. I never thought about looking for a scarf made of fur but now that I've seen this one I must have one of my own soon :) If you really love the look of fur then this beautiful fur phone case is perfect for you. It's faux fur which is super animal friendly and I'm sure you'll love carrying around a soft furry case all day HAHA :) Unfortunately the phone case is sold out but you can shop all these other items HERE. (FYI: They have similar phone cases on Wish so you may find one you like on there)

Are you a fur lover? Do you prefer faux or real fur? Which one of these items is your favorite? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Be sure to spread the love by sharing this post with all your friends who love furry things as much as I do. I hope you have an amazing week and happy shopping :)

3 Ways To Wear Green This Winter

Hey everyone and happy Friday! Who's ready for the weekend? I know I sure am! I have so much to do this weekend and so little time to get it done, but I'm ready to dive right in and make this one of my most productive weekends yet. I've been thinking all week about what I wanted to write about today and I was drawing up a blank until this morning while I was looking through my closet trying to decide what to wear. I love the color green and while I have several things in this shade I realized that I hardly ever wear it. I stood there looking at my beautiful green fur boots for a couple of minutes wondering why the heck they haven't left my closet this winter yet when it hit me...green is a hard color to match. Normally I just wear something black with green, but I don't really like the way these two shades look together...my personal opinion of course. So, I started looking at other shades and patterns that might go with the green items in my closet and I realized tan, nude, and brown are the absolute best shades to pair with green. So now comes the question...how do I style these items to make super cute outfits for winter? To help answer this question I decided to play on my Polyvore app for a bit and viola, I came up with 3 different styles using 3 different green items all while sticking with the tan/nude/brown color scheme :)

#1-Casual
During the winter my main focus when it comes to fashion is being warm and comfortable. A simple green casual sweater is a great way to do just that which is why I chose one for this example. This sweater looks really cozy and I'd love to have this for all my shopping excursions and trips to the mall. I paired this sweater with a pair of denim skinny jeans and some brown boots. These boots are extremely casual and since they are flat will be really comfortable for any outdoor activities that you have to do this winter or indoor too if comfort is your main focus :) You can shop this look HERE.

#2-Dressy
All fashionistas love to get dressed up for a party or a night out on the town with their sweetie. Green is such a great color for a winter night out and I found this gorgeous little green dress that would be perfect for such an occasion. Yes it does have spaghetti straps, but adding a beautiful leopard faux fur coat like the one pictured would keep you super warm and add to the dressy beauty of the whole outfit. Add a pretty little pair of nude pointed toe heels and you have a great outfit for a dressy night out :) You can shop this look HERE

#3-Dressy Casual
Dressy casual is my favorite style year round but I don't always wear it during the winter. This outfit has changed my mind! This super cute green hooded jacket will keep you warm during this winter season but add a cute pair of nude heeled boots and you have just turned a simple casual outfit to dressy casual. Skinny jeans and a tan turtleneck sweater add the finishing touches to this adorable outfit and to be honest I kinda want this jacket myself :) You can shop this look HERE.

Do you have any green items in your closet that you've been wondering how you were going to wear? If so, I hope this post gave you some great ideas! If you have any style questions I'd be glad to answer them...just send me a message via Facebook or e-mail me at FashionableTigress@gmail.com. Be sure to spread the love by sharing this post with all your friends who may be struggling with those beautiful green shades as well. I hope you have an amazing weekend and happy shopping :)

Coral Bow Sweater

Happy hump day everyone! For most of you the week is halfway over but for me it's just starting. I've been off for the past 5 days and I have greatly enjoyed it but it's time for me to head back to work tonight. On the bright side I only have 2 days until the weekend :) Do you already have plans for the weekend? I do...work on my business and hang out with my sweetie, but before I get the rest of this week started I wanted to share with you the cutest little sweater I found at one of my favorite discount stores. So, what is this sweater and where can you find one for yourself?

The Sweater
I found this beauty on a recent shopping trip to Burke's Outlet with my mom. I was browsing through the racks when I spotted the back of this sweater. How cute are these bows?! I fell in love with it immediately and I knew I had to try it on. The sweater is snug in the arms then flares out to fit like a trapeze top which I thought was super cute. Burke's also had this sweater in green but mom says coral looks better on me so I went with this one. I always find the cutest stuff at Burke's Outlet and at less than $10 this sweater was a steal :) So, how did I end up styling this cutie and how can you change it up to match your style?

My Style
I wore this sweater on a day date with my sweetie and I wanted to be pretty yet comfortable so I decided to pair this sweater with my awesome high waisted skinny jeans from Hollister and these adorable leopard print flats that I recently found at Walmart. These are my favorite pair of jeans that I own. They have the perfect amount of stretch and they are high waisted which helps prevent muffin top. Not to mention they are slightly distressed which I love! These little leopard ballet flats are so comfortable and super cute...and they were less than $10! I love wearing leopard print with any solid color and I think these look great with this sweater. If you want to dress up the sweater a little more you can always wear a cute pair of wedges or heels instead of flats. To be more casual you could wear a cute pair of sneakers or UGGs. I chose to not wear an undershirt, but if you would feel more comfortable wearing one make sure it's a neutral color like nude or tan. No matter how you end up styling this beauty just be sure to look good doing it :)

Shop This Look: Sweater *similar/ Jeans / Flats

Isn't this sweater adorable? Did you like the way I styled it? How would you style it differently? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Be sure to spread the love and share this post with all your friends who would love this sweater as much as I do. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week and happy shopping :)

Must Have Monday

Hey everyone and happy Monday. I know it's a lot later than I normally post but I was feeling a bit sick last night and didn't start feeling better until late this afternoon. I'm guessing it was one of those 24 hour bugs that we all get from time to time...either that or the moonshine I drank yesterday LOL. Regardless of what made me ill in the first place I'm better and ready to conquer what's left of today. I hope you had an amazing weekend. Mine was very busy and productive, but I had a lot of fun getting everything done and spending time with my sweetie :) Since we are well into January already (where does the time go?) I decided that for today's post I'd show you some awesome jackets/coats that are must haves for this winter season and I'm sure you'll love them as much as I do.

Must Haves
1-Marc Jacobs pink faux fur coat (Style bop, $1,319)
2-Tom Ford leather biker jacket (Tom Ford, $4,950)
3-Imitation fur bomber jacket (Inuinu, $120)
4-Abercrombie and Fitch classic fur puffer jacket (Pinterest, $30)
5-Red dress coat (With chic, $34)

I LOVE fur jackets and this one is super cute. I love the vibrant pink color and the leopard print is so adorable! It's also faux fur so if you're an animal lover you can wear it without feeling guilty. It's a little pricey for me, but it's Marc Jacobs so I shouldn't expect to get it for less ;) Leather biker jackets are everything! I need one of these in my life ASAP. Maybe not this particular one because I really don't want to pay almost 5,000 for a jacket, but I'm sure I can find a similar one that's just as cute for a lot less :) Bomber jackets are everywhere right now and I especially love the ones lined with fur like this one. How cute is it?? I would definitely wear this beauty every day and the price really isn't that bad either ;) Abercrombie and Fitch always makes the cutest fur jackets and this puffer jacket is so adorable. They are usually a lot more expensive too, but this particular one is selling on Pinterest for only $30! How cool is that? :) My favorite type of coat and sadly one I don't yet own is the dress coat. This red one is gorgeous! I love how long and elegant it is. It would go perfectly with so many of my dressy outfits that now I feel like I have to have one of these soon...if only I can find one that isn't made of wool (I'm allergic). I do know one thing for sure and that's I will have one of these beauties as soon as possible :) You can shop all these jackets/coats HERE.

What's your favorite outerwear style to sport this winter? Which one of these is your favorite? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Be sure to spread the love and share this post with all your friends who would love these jackets/coats as much as I do. I hope you have an amazing week and happy shopping :)

5 Discount Stores You Have To Shop Now

Hey everyone and happy Friday! I'm so glad the weekend is finally here. I'm off for the next 5 days and I can't wait to start doing all the awesome stuff I have planned. Girls night, double date, alone time with sweetie, relaxation day, and finally jury duty on Tuesday (not excited for the last one but at least I have the day off LOL). To celebrate all this wonderful time away from work I decided to write this post about one of my favorite things to do...SHOPPING! Bet you never guessed that one right ;) One thing I like more than simply shopping is getting an awesome deal so I have put together a list of 5 discount stores that I absolutely love where you can get great name brand clothing and accessories for really low prices.

#1-Burlington
If you've never shopped at Burlington before then you need to do so ASAP. They have the best accessories and I love shopping here for purses and jewelry. Of course they also sell clothing too which you can see on my recent outfit post HERE. I'd say my best score at Burlington was a cute Betsey Johnson wallet on clearance for $10! Yes you read that right!!! You never know what you'll find once you step through the door...it's like a huge treasure hunt and there's nothing I love more than the thrill of the hunt :) You can shop online or find a store near you HERE.

#2-Ross Dress For Less
This is probably my favorite of the 5 because they have the best prices ever! Just like Burlington, Ross is a huge treasure hunt and around every corner there's a great deal to be found. My best score here was a pair of UGGs for only $80. That was a rare find for me as I've never seen that brand at Ross before, but they do always have adorable Bearpaws for like $40. With it being winter we could all use a cute pair of fur boots :) You can shop online or find a store near you HERE.

#3-TJ Maxx
I've only been to this store a few times in my life, but every time I came out with some amazing stuff. This is actually a great place to shop for gifts for others especially around Christmas because they always have little gifts sets of various items really cheap. I'd have to say my biggest score here was the cutest Roxy hooded cardigan for only $25. This store is a bit more organized than the others so it's easier to find what you're looking for so if a treasure hunt isn't for you than you will love TJ Maxx :) You can shop online or find a store near you HERE.

#4-Marshalls
Like with TJ Maxx, I've only been to Marshalls a hand full of times but what I love about this store is they have a layaway. There have been so many times I'd be shopping at a discount store and have a buggy full of stuff but before I could head to the checkout I'd have to decide what I wanted more because I didn't have enough money for everything. I know you know what I'm talking about ladies! At Marshalls you can get it all with a small percentage down. My biggest score here was a pair of Ralph Lauren Polo jeans for only $30. Yes...I was really excited that day :) You can shop online or find a store near you HERE.

#5-Burke's Outlet
I love shopping here because they have an awesome rewards program! If you sign up for their Burke's One card (not a credit card) then every Friday you get 15% off your entire purchase and you get 1 point for every dollar you spend. Once you reach 200 points you get a $5 off coupon to use on your next visit. How cool is that? I'm always getting amazing discounts here on top of their already super low prices! I'd say my biggest score here was an awesome pair of Southpole plaid fur boots for only $25. This store is another treasure hunt so be prepared to unearth some great deals :) You can shop online or find a store near you HERE.

Have you ever been to any of these stores? Which one is your favorite? What has been your biggest score at a discount store? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Be sure to spread the love and share this post with all your friends who love discount stores as much as I do. I hope you have an amazing weekend and happy shopping :)

Grey Sweater Dress

Happy hump day everyone! I can't believe this week is halfway over already! Where does the time go? Not that I'm complaining...I have a ton of things to do this weekend and I'm ready to get to it. I decided to take a few days off next week so I can get everything organized and I have jury duty (AGAIN) on Tuesday so I actually have a 5 day weekend which I'm extremely excited about! So, I really hope the next two nights fly by at work so I can start this much needed break. Before I get to that though I have the cutest sweater dress that I want to share with you. It's not only super soft and comfy but it's also quite warm and stylish as well. So, where did I get this awesome dress and where can you snag one for yourself?

The Dress
I found this dress while shopping with one of my friends at Burlington a few months back and I fell in love with it immediately. Burlington is a great place to find name brand items at really great prices. Of course they also sell brands that aren't so well known so be sure to dig through everything and you might just find the deal of a lifetime :) Unfortunately this beauty isn't available online so I linked a similar one below. The brand of this particular dress is Derek Heart which I've seen at several different stores including Walmart, but at less than $10 I couldn't pass it up.  The first thing that caught my attention was the color. I don't normally wear a lot of grey, but this one isn't a flat grey color. It has many different shades of grey and it's textured so it appears a lot thicker than it really is. The second thing I noticed was how soft it was. This dress is slightly plush which gives it that super soft feel and makes it super warm...perfect for the colder days of winter. The deciding factor for me was the style. I love shift dresses because they flow so perfectly and don't hug too tightly around the tummy (I love to eat so therefore I'm prone to bloating) so this dress was the perfect addition to my wardrobe. So, how did I end up styling this beauty and how can you change it up to match your style?

My Style
The day I wore this dress it was really cold outside, but I still wanted to wear a dress to church and I knew this one would keep me cozy so I decided to dress it up just a little. When I originally bought this dress I planned to wear some black UGGs and leggings with it, but I realized that was way too casual than what I wanted so I changed it to my new pair of black heeled over the knee boots from Wish that I literally got in the mail two days before wearing this outfit. These boots are amazing! I do Wish reviews from time to time here on TWW so I'm always shopping on there, but not everything is great quality. I was very happy with these cuties and for less than $15 they were a steal! They are actually on sale right now too so if you click on the link below it will take you right to them. If these boots aren't for you then you can always opt for the casual look mentioned above or you could wear some knee high flat boots instead. Also, some leggings and a cute pair of ballet flats might look great as well. Don't forget to throw on a cute scarf for some extra warmth and style and you're all set :) Just remember to pair this dress with solid colored shoes and accessories so you don't have patterns and textures fighting for attention.

Shop This Look: Dress *similar/ Boots

Isn't this dress adorable? Do you like how I styled it? How would you style it differently? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Be sure to spread the love and share this post with all your friends who would love this dress as much as I do. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week and happy shopping :)

Must Have Monday

Hey everyone and happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was super productive. I got a lot of things done for my business and hopefully I'll have it live by the end of next week. Keep your fingers crossed for me :) I really hope this week flies by because I have a 3 day weekend coming up with awesome plans for every single day. Do you make plans for the weekend this far in advance? I always have something planned but I enjoy being super busy so it's fun for me. Has it been cold where you live? Here in Houston it's usually pretty warm even in the winter, but this weekend we had a huge winter blast and it even snowed for like 2 minutes LOL. So, for this week's must have Monday post I decided to feature a few winter must haves so you can stay warm and fashionable when the cold hits ;)

Must Haves
1. White wink face hat by Kate Spade (Lord and Taylor, $58)
2. Plaid winter warm knitted scarf (Amazon, $12)
3. Quilted puffer jacket (Top Shop, $130)
4. Fleece cat sweater hoodie (With Chic, $40)
5. Cat pop top mittens by Kate Spade (Kate Spade, $88)

I LOVE Kate Spade so much that of course I had to include at least one of her awesome designs in my must have Monday post...well this Monday I picked two LOL. This white wink face hat by Kate Spade is super adorable and will be perfect to keep your head and ears warm during the cold and windy winter days ahead. (FYI: Kate Spade also has a wink face watch that is soooo cute) :) I have become somewhat obsessed with scarves this year and I think this one is awesome! Plaid scarves are the cutest and this one will be sure to keep your neck warm and your outfit stylish :) I've never been a big fan of the puffer jackets until this year. I like this particular one because the color is so vibrant. You're sure to make an awesome fashion statement and stay super cozy in this beauty :) How cute is this fleece cat sweater hoodie? OMG I think it's just about the cutest thing ever! The fleece will keep you super warm and the adorable cat will make you look cute and in style for sure :) These cat mittens will go great with the cat hoodie and these are by Kate Spade!!! How cool is that? I'm not going to lie...they are a little pricey for mittens, but they are just so cute I may have to get them anyway ;) You can shop all these amazing items HERE.

Aren't these 5 winter must have items super adorable? Which one is your favorite? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Be sure to spread the love and share this post with all your friends who would love these items as much as I do. I hope you have an amazing week and happy shopping :)

The 10 Commandments Of Fashion - My New Year's Resolution

Now that 2017 is finally here I've struggled to come up with a resolution for myself that I can actually stick with. Every year it's the same: I decide I'm going to get in shape then February rolls around and all my workout gear can be found laying in the closet untouched and abandoned. Sound familiar? This year I wanted to come up with something great! Something I'm passionate about that will not only challenge me but also hopefully be an inspiration to others. Then it hit me! I'm a fashion blogger right?! I LOVE fashion and helping others to always look their best is a huge goal of mine so why not come up with a resolution that's fashion related? Having a passion for fashion is a wonderful thing, but it can also put a lot of stress on you as well. So, I have come up with 10 fashion commandments that every woman should always follow and there's no better time to start then the New Year :)

1. Thou shall learn to love the body God gave you
Bodies come in all shapes and sizes and we as women should learn to love what we were given. I've heard so many women say "If I looked like that person I would be fashionable, but nothing looks good on me the way I am". WRONG!! Learning to love the body God gave you is the number one step to becoming more fashionable. Once you realize that you're beautiful the way you are you can begin to learn how to dress for your body type and enhance all the awesome features that you don't think you have.

2. Thou shall not body shame yourself or others
There's nothing worse than body shaming. If you're constantly looking at yourself in the mirror every morning and saying "Oh I look terrible" or "I'm so fat" then you will start believing it and then others will start believing it. Confidence and a positive attitude are everything! Others feed off your energy so every morning make it a point to tell that person in the mirror she's beautiful and perfect the way she is. And never body shame others! We women have to stick together and lift each other up every single day.

3. Thou shall dress for your body type
Never make the mistake of thinking that any and everything will look great on you because that is not the case. It doesn't matter how big or small you are there are certain clothes that enhance your features and others that will look terrible on you. I've made this mistake many times. Last year I bought a one piece jumpsuit that I thought was super cute until I went to wear it. I looked like a little girl trying to wear her mothers clothes. Every body is different and should be celebrated for their differences. It's why there are so many sizes and styles of clothing out there in the first place.

4. Thou shall not make assumptions based on "how it looks on the model"
This goes hand in hand with number 3. Just because it looks great on the model in the magazine or the mannequin in the store does not mean it will look good on you. Make sure you try everything on or know your measurements before you buy it. And please don't buy something just because "it's so cute". Yes it may be cute and look great on someone else but remember you want to look your best at all times so always buy clothing that enhances YOUR features not someones else's.

5. Thou shall not get hung up on size
This one is for me! I can't count the number of times I almost cried when the size I normally wear didn't fit. It's so easy to get hung up on size when in reality all clothing is different. I have 3 different sizes in my closet right now and they all fit the same only they are different brands. Sizes tend to change over the years and vary from country to country so you may not gain a pound but you might wear a larger size in China. Remember it's not about the size of the item but how it looks on you.

6. Thou shall not look to others to define your own style
I love being a fashion blogger because I love sharing my outfits and ideas with people, but I don't want anyone to try to copy my style and be exactly like me. God made us all different and you should look to others for style inspiration not to copycat them. One of the best things you can do for yourself is learn what your style is. You can take the same shirt and make many different outfits and styles with it so make it your own. Always add your own little bit of flavor to every outfit that way it's yours and your alone.

7. Thou shall be willing to try new things
Finding your style will only happen when you are willing to try new things. Not really sure how that new style top that everyone else is wearing will look on you...try it out!! What's the worst that will happen? Ok it may not look great on you but at least then you'll know. This is when fashion gets fun!! I love trying all the new fashion trends each year. Some end up looking amazing on me and of course I then add my own style twist to them and voila I have a new style. Don't ever get stuck in a style rut! With so many new styles coming out every season there's no excuse for it. Always be willing to try anything once...even if it's only in the dressing room.

8. Thou shall break out of your comfort zone
This is a continuation of number 7. Everyone has a comfort zone but this year make it a point to break out of it. For me my comfort zone is the juniors section at every single store I visit. I've been shopping in the juniors department since high school and now that I'm 35 I've decided it's time for a change. I recently visited the misses section of Kohls and found some amazing items that fit great! Your comfort zone may be a certain style or store that you've stuck with for years. This year make it a point to do something different even if you don't like it. At least you can say you tried.

9. Thou shall not be afraid to make fashion mistakes
Every fashionista has done it at least once! Remember that outfit you thought was so awesome until you saw the pictures and thought "who the heck let me out of the house looking like that"? Yeah, I've been there. But, this is all a part of trying new things and learning your style. Even the most successful fashion designer has screwed up a time or two but that's what it takes to be great. Don't be afraid to make mistakes because it will definitely happen on your fashion journey...just remember one day you'll look back and laugh.

10. Thou shall strive to always look your best
Nothing irritates me more than going to the store and seeing someone walking around in pajamas and house slippers (Dianne this one's for you). Pajamas are made to sleep in and to wear at HOME! This year take some pride in your appearance. Even if you only throw on some jeans and a t-shirt at least you're properly dressed. When you look in the mirror and see how great you look it will help you feel great and then you will be able to spread your positive energy to others. Always strive to look your very best no matter where you're going or what you're doing.

These commandments don't seem that hard to follow do they? I plan to adhere to these everyday and hopefully you try to do so as well. Not only will they help you look great, but you will feel better about yourself as well. And really that is what fashion has always been about for me anyway. Looking great always makes you feel great and when you feel great you can spread positive energy more easily to others. This year let's make it a point to do just that. No more body shaming and being hung up on sizes. No more being stuck in a rut. Here's to breaking out of our comfort zones, making a few fashion mistakes, and finding out what our style truly is and embracing it. I hope 2017 is amazing for you and happy shopping :)
