My Top 10 Picks Of The Week

Happy Thursday everyone! How are you enjoying this wonderful week so far? I honestly am having a hard time getting back onto my sleep schedule for work after being on vacation, but I'm sure by next week I'll be back to right again. I really enjoyed my vacation but this whole week I've been so exhausted and I can't seem to find any energy. Oh well, a relaxing weekend at home will fix me right up I'm sure and this is my last night of work for the week so my weekend isn't that far away. So, let's get this day started already so I can get to my weekend! Before I head off to do that though, it's Thursday and that means it's time to share with you my top 10 picks of the week. This is one of my favorite posts of the week because not only does it give me an excuse to go shopping but it lets me share my awesome finds with fashionistas who might not have known about them otherwise :) So what store did I shop at this week?

G by Guess
I used to love this store so much and my mom and I would go there and browse through their purses all the time, but it isn't what it used to be and I'm actually a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, they still have some super cute stuff but the style of their clothing seems to have taken a turn toward urban and I'm not really feeling it. If you are a lover of the urban look then this is definitely the store for you and you will feel right at home. I felt a little out of place while shopping here and it took me forever to find items that I liked, but I finally found the cutest 10 items this store has to offer. Keep in mind that I didn't check the clearance rack so there could possibly be some amazing stuff on there as well. Ok so you're probably ready to see these top 10 picks already right?! Without further ado...here they are:

The Picks
One big disappointment for me was the lighting in the dressing room. I need a well lit room so I can be sure the color I'm trying on suits my skin tone and to make sure everything looks good. The dressing room here had a light but it wasn't turned on so the only light I had to go by was the light streaming in from the rest of the store. Because of this the pictures turned out horrible and I apologize but for the most part you can still see what they look like.

This was actually the first item I grabbed upon entering the store. I love blue jean dresses and I wanted to try it on because I actually do have one pair of urban heels that I could've paired with it but I didn't like the way it looked on me. It was cute but too stiff and I have a feeling it might be uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time so I put it back.

I thought this was just a regular blouse at first until I tried it on. It stretches to hit right about mid thigh so I'd classify this as a tunic. It was very comfortable and looked great on me but there was something I wanted more so I put this one back.

I loved this dress on the hanger and it even looked cute on me but I didn't like where the dress was laced up at. It was pulling apart and revealing a lot of skin which I thought made the dress look tacky. If you can pull it off and look sexy then by all means girl work it but it just wasn't for me so back to the rack it went.

I love the color purple and I thought this tank was so pretty when I saw it on the hanger but when I put it on I felt like I should be wearing a blazer over it so for me this isn't a stand alone tank. It is a dressy tank that you wear to work underneath that jacket or blazer. Since I don't work in an office and therefore don't wear this style very often I had no need of this pretty little tank so I put it back for someone else to love.

I knew when I saw this dress that it was going to look great on me. I love the beautiful floral pattern and the cuffed sleeves as well as the cinched waist and v neck. This dress is the whole package for me and I'm really surprised I found it here of all places. This was of course the dress I took home and I can't wait to wear it and feature it in a future post for you ladies :)

#6 Orange tank *similar item
The color orange is one of my favorite colors to wear for fall. I thought this tank would look cute with a black blazer and some black dress pants but just like with the purple tank I don't get to wear stuff like this very often so this wasn't a smart buy for me. It's still on the rack at the store waiting for someone to snatch it up. LOL

I really thought this tee was cute. I love the simplicity of it and I thought it would be a great casual fall outfit but it was a little longer in the back than I anticipated and because of that it threw the whole look off for me. So, back to the rack it went.

This dress was my second choice and had I not given myself a budget for only one item from this store I would've gotten this one as well. This color blue is so pretty and it looked great with my skin tone. The fit was perfect and I love the cold shoulder style right now. Sadly it lost out to the shirt dress but I could always go back and get this one too.

#9 Blue and white striped tee *similar item
One thing I've always loved from Guess is their tees. They are always dolled up with glitter and various prints which makes them super appealing and pleasing to the eye. The only reason I didn't get this particular tee is because I wanted the dress more. I put this tee back but I'm seriously contemplating heading back up there for one.

These jeans are super cute and I love skinny jeans but I wasn't too crazy about the way they fit me. They fit really well everywhere except the waist. The waist is a little big but the next size down was too small. This is the story of my life!! Oh well, maybe one day I'll fit into a pair.

Aren't these items super cute? Do you shop at G by Guess often? Which item was your favorite and how would you style it? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Don't forget to spread the love by sharing this post with all your friends. I hope you have an amazing Thursday and happy shopping :)

Berry And Gold Tank

Happy hump day everyone! How was your first day back to work after the labor day holiday? Mine was a bit hectic and tiring but it's already Wednesday and that means the weekend will be here again before we know it. I don't know about you but I can't wait to have some down time. So, how are you enjoying the cooler fall temperatures? I wouldn't know about that yet because it's still HOT here in Texas so I'm wearing my cute tanks and patiently waiting for temperatures to fall just enough for me to throw on a cute fall outfit. Well technically it isn't fall until the 22nd so I won't let myself feel too bad for still rocking my summer wear. LOL. Speaking of summer wear, I have the cutest tank top I want to share with you. I wore this tank as a summer outfit because of this "wonderful" Texas heat *rolls eyes*, but you can also accessorize it up to make it a great tank for the fall season as well. So what is this tank and where can you get it?

The Tank
I want to start off by saying that I think Walmart has been given a bad rep as far as clothing goes. If I had a penny for every time someone said "I can't believe you got that at Walmart, I don't buy my clothes from there" I'd be super rich right now and probably not buying my clothes there either. HAHA just kidding. But seriously though, there are a lot of people that can't afford much else and I'm happy to say that Walmart has come a LONG way with the quality of their clothing and I happily buy stuff from there all the time and will continue to do so in the hopes of lifting some little girls spirits who has no other choice but to shop there...and because they have some downright adorable stuff!! Okay now that my rant is over do you want to guess where I got this berry and gold tank top I'm wearing? If you said Walmart give yourself a cookie :) I fell in love with this tank the moment I saw it and I knew it would be a great addition to my wardrobe. I love the berry color and the beautiful gold design makes this tank pop. Also, with a price tag of less than $10 who could pass this beauty up?! So how did I style this adorable tank and how can you take it from summer to fall in a snap?

My Style
Since it was 97 degrees outside the day I wore this tank I decided to pair it with some super cute shorts, that I also got from Walmart, and my go to sandals for this summer season that I got at Ross. These shorts are so comfortable and they are very good quality. I've had them going on two years now and they still fit perfectly. Granted I do wash ALL my clothes in cold water and dry them on low heat but that's a topic for another time. These sandals were definitely an amazingly good buy for me considering I've worn them with just about everything I own this summer. LOL So how can you turn this beautiful tank into an awesome outfit for fall? First of all, instead of the shorts wear a pair of jeans. I prefer skinny jeans but you could also rock a cute pair of flared jeans as well. The next thing of course is the shoes. For the fall you want a cute peep toe or closed toe shoe like booties or heels. Either one would work fine with this tank. Lastly, what do you do about the lack of sleeves? I think a beautiful fitted blazer would look amazing with this tank and it would certainly make the outfit more dressy. So, skinny jeans, heels, and a blazer for me. Sweet!!! I already have a ready made outfit for fall :)

Isn't this tank so adorable? How would you style it differently? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Don't forget to spread the love by sharing this post with all your friends. I hope you have an amazing hump day and happy shopping :)

Must Have Shoes Of The Week

Happy Labor Day Monday! I hope you have the day off and are enjoying time with family, friends, or just yourself. I sadly have to return to work later this afternoon and after being off for the last 11 days I'm honestly not ready :( That's usually how it goes though. I don't think I've ever met anyone who is excited to return to work after a nice long vacation. HAHA On the bright side it will be a short week and the weekend will be here before I know it. Before heading back to work I'd like to share with you one of my favorite types of shoes for the fall season and how you can style them with two of the hottest shirt styles for fall as well.

Loafers are great to wear for the fall season. Whether they are flat or have a heel, the closed toe makes them perfect for the cooler weather and can make any outfit you pair them with look a bit more classy. I actually haven't worn loafers in years but I've always thought they were super cute, comfortable, and a great way to dress an outfit up or down depending on which style you choose. This season I have seen so many beautiful pairs of loafers that it's inevitable that I will end up with at least one pair. I'll probably choose a neutral colored pair since I'll be able to style them with more outfits, but there are also loafers with bright colored patterns and designs if you'd rather have something unique. For this post I have chosen two different pairs of loafers in neutral colors and paired them with different styles that are perfect for the upcoming fall season.

Tan loafers are probably the ones I'm going to end up buying for myself. I love the neutral color and I'll be able to get a lot of wear out of them. I used to have a pair that looked exactly like the ones in the picture and now I regret getting rid of them. Note to self: always keep the shoes you love even if they go out of style because eventually that style will come around again! For this example I decided to pair the shoes with some distressed skinny jeans and a cute plaid button up shirt. This is the ultimate casual outfit for fall and will be great for running errands or having lunch with your girlfriends. Normally I'd wear sneakers or boots with this outfit but I think the loafers add a little more class :) I've linked all these items HERE for you.

The color grey is super hot for the fall season so why not get a cute pair of loafers in this awesome neutral shade? I don't normally buy too much grey but I may just concede this year and at least get a grey pair of shoes. Another item that is hot for fall is the necktie blouse. This is a must have for me and is now on my want list for the next time I go shopping. So, for my example I decided to pair these awesome grey loafers with a gorgeous white necktie blouse that's covered with cute little critters and a pair of distressed skinny jeans. I love how the jeans give this outfit a casual feel when if paired with dress pants or a skirt it would be more dressy. I love the casual look for fall so this is certainly how I'd wear this outfit :) This outfit will be great for a lunch date with your girlfriends. I've linked these items HERE for you.

Are you a fan of loafers? Which style is your favorite: flats or heels? Which outfit choice do you like the best? How would you style these shoes differently? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Don't forget to spread the love by sharing this post with all your friends. I hope you have an awesome labor day and happy shopping :)

Butterfly Shirt

Happy Sunday! I hope you're enjoying this beautiful labor day weekend. Today is the last day of my vacation as I'll be heading back to work tomorrow night, but I've had a great time off spent with friends, family, and my sweetie. I think next year I'll try to go on more weekend trips instead of taking off all at once. Before I start daydreaming of next years vacation I'd like to share with you an amazing butterfly shirt I found while out shopping recently that I know you'll love. So where did I find this shirt and where can you snag one for yourself?

The Shirt
I spotted this shirt while on a recent shopping trip to Abercrombie and Fitch and I fell in love with it almost immediately. I love butterflies so I knew I wanted to try it on, I just hoped it would fit me and look good. I haven't shopped here in awhile and I wasn't sure what size to try on so I decided on a size small because that's what I wear at most other places. It was a perfect fit and looked so cute on me that I knew I had to have it. What sold me on the shirt was not only the adorable butterflies but the slit down the back at the bottom. This little slit added just the right amount of spice to make this shirt a great buy for me along with the awesome price tag of less than $25. I linked this adorable shirt HERE for you and this weekend it's on sale for less than $15!!! So how did I decide to style this beauty and how can you style it as well?

My Style
I wanted to keep my outfit casual but add just a bit of trendy to it so I decided to pair this shirt with my awesome new skinny jeans that I got from Abercrombie and Fitch and these super trendy fringe sandals that I got on clearance from Shoe Dazzle. I actually purchased the jeans the same day I got the shirt and I love the way they look together. It doesn't hurt that the jeans look amazing on me and fit so well. They have spandex in them so if you like your jeans to have some stretch then these jeans will be perfect for you. I've linked these jeans HERE for you. I got these sandals during the summer clearance event that Shoe Dazzle has every year and I love how cute and comfortable they are. I don't think they are on clearance anymore but you can still snag a pair HEREIf you want to dress up the shirt a little more you can always wear a cute pair of wedges instead of sandals or even a pretty pair of flats. And of course you can throw on a cute jacket for an instant fall outfit.

Isn't this shirt shirt super adorable? How would you style it differently? Sandals, wedges, or flats? Which one would you choose? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Don't forget to spread the love and share this post with all your friends. I hope you enjoy the rest of your labor day weekend and happy shopping :)

How To Wear Workout Leggings Casually

Happy Friday and happy labor day weekend! It's finally September and I don't know about you but I'm looking forward to the cooler weather. Hopefully we start to feel it here in Texas sooner than usual this year. Right now it's still getting up to the 90s outside so I'm still wearing all my cute summer clothes, but I really want to start dressing in all the latest fall fashions. Speaking of fall, do you continue to workout once fall is here? If you said yes, that's so awesome and kudos to you. If you're like me you buy a ton of cute workout clothes in the spring and summer but by fall you have slowed down or stopped working out and now you have these clothes that are just lying around unused. If this is the case I have a solution for you, why not mix your workout gear with your casual wear this fall? You'll be super comfortable while lounging around the house or running errands especially in those cute workout leggings. So, how do you wear workout leggings casually?

The best way to wear workout leggings casually is to pair them with a casual t-shirt and casual sneakers instead of the tight dry fit workout shirts and running shoes. I love those dry fit shirts myself because they keep me super dry when I sweat but I don't like wearing them in the fall when I want to relax and eat pie. LOL And those running shoes I wore the heck out of all spring and summer, I think I'll retire them and go for a cute pair of converse instead. Converse are by far my favorite brand of casual sneakers and I'd wear them with almost everything if I could. The following are three examples of how to match your favorite workout leggings with some casual items to make super cute and comfortable fall outfits. Adore Me even has a few casual fall comfort workout inspirations on their Motivate Me pinterest page, in case you're looking for added inspiration.

I love these leggings because they are so fun. Bright bold colorful patterns have always grabbed my attention in the store but I'm usually only brave enough to wear them when I'm working out. I mean it's ok to wear wild colored pants to the gym when everyone else is right?! Why not break out of that comfort zone and wear these cuties everywhere for fall? Throw on a cute pink long sleeve shirt and some pink converse sneakers like the ones in the picture and you have an adorable casual fall outfit that you can feel super comfy in. Remember when you have a pattern on the bottom to balance it out by wearing a solid color on top and solid colored shoes. I've linked all these items HERE for you.

Everyone has at least one pair of black workout leggings that they purchased for the spring/summer workout seasons. Black is extremely neutral and goes with almost any color and that's why I always love to have a few pairs myself. Why not spice up those plain boring black leggings with a movie or band tee and some cute converse sneakers?! Suicide squad is still showing in theaters and is an awesome movie so I chose to pair these black leggings with a white and red "daddy's little monster" 3/4 sleeve shirt and a cute pair of red converse sneakers. One great thing about black leggings is the sky is the limit on what you choose to pair them with so go all out and wear something fun. I've linked all these items HERE for you.

I love bold colored leggings in a solid color! A pattern can be hard to match but a solid color is easy because you can wear a patterned top as long as one of the colors matches the leggings or you can wear a solid top of a different color as long as the colors don't clash. When I wear a bright color on the bottom I usually balance it out by wearing a neutral color on top and neutral colored shoes. For my example I chose a super cute black 3/4 sleeve shirt that has my morning mantra on it LOL Then of course I paired that with a matching pair of black converse. I love how wearing all black makes the bold neon pink stand out even more! I've linked all these items HERE for you.

Do you still wear your workout leggings through the fall and winter seasons? How do you make them more casual?  Which one of these three would you wear yourself? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment and let me know what you think. I hope you have an awesome labor day weekend and happy shopping :)
