My fall and winter outfits 5

Outfit: 1
Outfit: 1
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! This was the week where everyone enjoys time with family and maybe even gets to see family and friends they have not seen in years. In my case I was meeting some of my boyfriends family for the first time. In this instance you always want to look your best but not like you are trying too hard. I am always a nervous wreck when meeting people for the first time but there is just something about a well put together outfit that builds my confidence and makes me feel like I am ready to conquer the world. It was a hot Christmas here in Texas so I could not wear the cute thick sweaters and fleece leggings that I would normally wear. Instead I opted for a thinner open front sweater and heeled boots so if I got too hot I could always take off the sweater and wear the camisole underneath. I chose a black camisole to bring out the black in the sweater and match the black boots I was wearing. If you want more color you can always wear a burgundy camisole with shoes of the same color or black shoes would go with that as well. Do not wear light grey as an undershirt! It is too much grey and you really want to highlight one of the other colors. If you can not wear heels then a nice pair of flats or riding boots would also look nice and dressy with this outfit. I would not wear sneakers with this outfit. Sneakers gives a casual vibe and the sweater is more of a dressy top so you would be sending mixed signals about which style you wanted to go with. The sweater was a present from my parents but I know they got it at Marshalls for probably less than $20, the camisole I got from Forever 21 for less than $5, the jeans I found at Walmart for about $15, and the boots I purchased online at Alloy for around $25.

There is always some down time during the holidays where you can relax at home or just invite a few close friends over to exchange gifts and have dinner. In this case you want to wear something you can feel relaxed wearing but also feel stylish. My best friend was coming over to visit and hang out for a bit so I wanted to look presentable but comfortable. I decided to go with something that had a country feel since I live in the country and it was also hot so a shirt with a thinner material and shorter sleeves was the way to go. I wore a pink undershirt to bring out the flowers in the over shirt but you can also wear olive green or brown. I would have worn pink boots if I owned any but I went with the olive green boots. You can also wear brown boots if you wear the brown undershirt with it. If you want to change up the style and go for a more rocker vibe then just pair this outfit with skinny jeans and a pair of combat boots. To girly it up a bit try a pair of pink flats. The shirt I got at Burkes Outlet for about $10, the pink undershirt I found at La'Patricia for less than $10, the jeans I purchased from Deb on sale for $20, and the boots I got from 579 for less than $20.

My Fall and Winter outfits 4

 Outfit: 1
Outfit: 1
It was the last weekend before Christmas and I had some last minute shopping to do. Seeing as we had a cold front come through and it was a bit more chilly than normal, I decided to wear something warm yet stylish. Leggings are a popular article of clothing all year around but especially during the colder months. You can never go wrong with the sweater and leggings combo as long as you do not mix patterns. For this outfit I decided to make the leggings the focal point. If you have a cute pair of printed leggings it is always best to pair them with a solid colored top and shoes. I know some style magazines say it is ok to mix patterns but I could not disagree more! When there are two different patterns in one outfit the different prints end up fighting to be the center of attention and it ends up making you look sloppy and uncoordinated. Also, when picking out a top to wear with the leggings always choose a color that is in the leggings. I chose to wear a black top with matching black fur boots seeing as there is black in the leggings as well. It was a nice way of letting the bold colors in the leggings stand out. You can always opt to wear one of the brighter colors if you want. Flats can be worn with this outfit and possibly even sneakers but, boots are the best way to go with this one. I found the sweater at Old Navy on the clearance rack for only $2, the leggings are from Walmart and I only paid $8 for them, and the fur boots I bought from JustFab for $40.

One of this seasons hottest items is the open front sweater. These used to be reserved for teachers and librarians, but now everyone has at least one of these cute versatile sweaters in their closet. They come in all different patterns and colors and can be worn in many different ways to make them go from dressy to casual with the change of a pair of shoes. Just like with the leggings, you want to make sure to pair a bold patterned sweater with solid colored shoes and undershirt. Since I was running errands the day I wore this, I decided to go with the casual look. For a more dressy look this could be paired with heeled boots or even a pair of flats. I wore a neutral grey camisole for the undershirt and a pair of matching grey boots. This matches the grey that is already in the sweater but allows the bold colors to stand out and makes the sweater the focal point. The sweater I found at Ross for less than $20, the grey camisole is from Forever 21 and it was less than $5, I got the jeans from Walmart for around $15, and the fur boots are Bearpaw and I purchased them through Fingerhut for about $100.

Party Dresses

outfit 1:

Outfit 1:
It is that time of the year...Christmas party time! Whether it is a family get together or a company function, it is always important to dress your best. This is the outfit I chose for my company Christmas party. It is not an overly formal event, but everyone usually dresses quite nice. I wanted my outfit to be sexy and sassy, but not over the top. This velvet dress was the perfect choice for the occasion. Velvet is always a good material for fall and winter because it is very warm and wears well even on those cold and dreary days. The black velvet heels perfectly compliment the dress. You can also wear a cute pair of wedges or maybe even a pair of flats if the height of the shoe is an issue for you, but whichever shoe you choose make sure the color is black. I toyed with the idea of matching my shoes with a color from the floral pattern in the dress, but since this was a nice event black was the way to go. The dress I found on the clearance rack at Forever 21 for $13 and the shoes I purchased online from Sheikh on sale for around $25.

The second Christmas party for this year was a church party. I was told the dress code was smart casual, but seeing as I have never heard this term before I decided to dress it up a bit. I ended up being a little too dressy for the occasion as compared with the attire worn by everyone else, but there is nothing wrong with adding some flair to any event. Red is always a good choice to wear to a Christmas party and I was in good company seeing as the majority of the room was filled with red shirts and sweaters, but if you want to stand out I suggest going with a green or gold which is what I plan to do next time. This dress is the perfect red version of the little black dress and everyone should own at least one dress in this color. I chose to pair the dress with nude heels because I believe nude is the perfect color to wear with red. You can also pair this dress with gold or silver shoes, but black is way too harsh to wear with red unless there is black in the dress already or you wear a black sash. I found this dress at Styles for Less for only $15 and the shoes are from Payless and I believe I only paid about $25

My fall & winter outfit ideas 3

 Outfit: 1

So this weekend was, in my opinion, the perfect Fall weather here in Texas. It was warm enough to ditch the thick sweaters and put on something thinner, but not warm enough for short sleeves. I chose this outfit because it is, what I like to call, dressy casual. This simply means that an outfit can go either way depending on the shoes and/or accessories you choose to wear with it. I was going to church then lunch so I decided to wear heeled boots to make the outfit more dressy. For shopping or an activity where you will be doing a lot of walking I would opt for black fur boots or a cute pair of riding boots.
The black long sleeve shirt I got at Walmart for about $6, the sweater vest I found at Ross for less than $20, the jeans were also purchased at Walmart for around $15, and the boots I found online at Alloy on sale for $25.

This was my Thanksgiving Day outfit from a couple of weeks ago. It was a dreary day and chilly, but not too cold. I was hosting the dinner for my immediate family so I wanted to wear something casual and warm, but not too dressed down. In this outfit I was comfortable and stylish and I did not have to try too hard. However; if you do want to dress it up a little more than I did, you can wear nude or pink flats instead of the fur boots. I got the pink long sleeve shirt at Deb for $10 on sale, the camisole undershirt I found at Forever 21 for less than $5, the jeans I purchased from Walmart for $15, and the fur boots are Sorel and I bought them from Journeys for $130.
